What do you eat in a typical day?
It's the texture of the cottage cheese that I don't like. But thanks for the suggestions of sweetening the ricotta or trying it with sauce. Good ideas.
Stephanie---Thanks for the protein drink suggesion. My husband goes to Rowlett every Monday night. I'll have to get him to stop by that GNC for me. :) And while I haven't really been keeping a food diary, I have been making a mental note of the things that make me sick. I'm talking to my doctor tomorrow.
Thanks again, guys!
Dear Stephaine,
Yes, congrats on the weight loss. I am also 8 wks out (surgery March 31) and have lost 33 lbs. since surgery. I have to ask you "what is a stricture"... I have a simular problem but it is a hernia. My surgeon mended it (mid section of stomach) & said it was about the size of a lemon. Well, about 3 days post op I got double pnunomonia and ended back in the hospital for a wk in ICU and somehow the stiches came out of the hernia and it is now the size of a grapefruit. It is horrible looked (a bulge in my stomach) and you can feel the food going thru my intestines if I put my hand on it... So, all that being said, my surgery will not do surgery until the end of July due to my lungs healing. I have a girdle sinch I wear as well. The worst part is I am unable to exercise. I do normal things around the house within limits, for fear of ripping it more but sure wish I could add my water arobics back into my routine.
By the way, I throw up about once a wk and am still having what I call my bad days but they are less frequent now. Most of the time, (and this is blunt) what I throw up is liquid clear flem as such.. The other night I had one bite of BBQ chicken, and up this liquid came. My husband pretty much ignores me now instead of jumping up to help! lol
Good luck sweetie with the advice given and keep up the good work.. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers for a more tolerable time for you and your new venture!

Carole,
A stricture is a build up of scar tissue in the part of your pouch where food should be exiting. I had so much scar tissue there that nothing solid was getting through. Anytime I ate anything with any substance (i.e. anything but liquids) I would throw it up. My surgeon referred me to my GI doctor. The way they repair a stricture is to perform an endoscopy, and when they get to the stricture they inflate a balloon and open up that area. Both my surgeon and my GI doctor informed me that it sometimes takes 2 or 3 procedures (or possibly more) to fix this problem. I am going to need at least one more. Unfortunately I'm going on vacation next week so I'm going to have to wait two more weeks to have it done. So next week I will be in Las Vegas looking for places with good soups. LOL
