Calcium Citrate Chewables

Hey all,

Im having RNY tomorrow and am having a really hard time finding the Calcium Citrate Chewables. Any suggestions on where to find it in the Dallas/Richardson area?

Congradulations on your surgery tomorrow Angela. I am unsure where you can get the "chewable" ones over the counter. Maybe someone will chime in here and know. Have you tired the Vitamin Shoppe????? I would call them and ask them if they carry them before making a trip. I get mine from Bariatric Advantage. I like the Cinnamon Flavor....they taste like "red hots" and I always loved them. LOL Good luck with your search and with your surgery tomorrow. Please post often and let us get to know you.

I did try the Vitamin Shoppe. I actually bought some but when I got home and looked at the bottle a third/fourth time it said Calcium carbonate/citrate, so Im not really sure what that means??? I did see one that was a Chewable citrate but the serving size was 4 wafers. I was hoping for an easier option. Oh well. I will do what needs to be done. Thanks for the info on the Cinnamon Flavor from Bariatric Advantage. I will go ahead and order those for later.

Angela.....I take 3 of the Bariatric advantage Calcuim Citrate a day. 1200 Mg. my bloodwork has always been perfect since my surgery almost 4 yrs ago. Now my surgeon requireds 1000 mg a day. You take what yours requires of you not what everyone else tells you to take. Always follow your doctors orders. I don't think they are bad. I have had some of my SG members think that they were a little "hot" LOL But I LOVE hot things. They are just a real strong cinnamon flavor. The chocolate are pretty good too. Lots also like the Lemon....I have not tried those though. Good luck to you tomorrow.

Vitamin Shoppe carries chewable calcium citrate. They are huge tablets, but they chew up easily and don't taste bad at all.

Thanks Lynne for telling Angela that. I know that she will feel so much better now going into surgery knowing that she will have all the vitamin's that she will need. I haven't tried them but I do know that The Vitamin Shoppe is very WLS on most of their products. I knew pretty much if anyone would have them they would. Thanks again for letting her know. I see you survived yesterday with the teenagers !!!! LOL

Did you know Bariatric advantage now makes the calcium citrate in chewables? Chalky Chocolate heaven, they are, lol!! I went to my 9 month follow up with Dr. Garth Davis Thursday. As I was leaving the office I saw a sample bucket of silver wrapped somethings. I grabbed one and popped it in my mouth, yum chocolate. I turned right around and went back to see what I just ate (though I should have done that before I put it in my mouth) and the nurse said it's new chocolate calcium citrate chewables for Bariatric Advantage so I bought two bags. They are really good. Obviously they are slightly chalky but it's definitely not a problem. There is also lemon flavor but I haven't tried those yet.
