Leaving TMB

BECKY-the TMB and the other boards/OH website HAVE evolved over the years, but I still thank God EVERY DAY for Eric Klein and his vision of OH...without it, I would not have found my surgeon, my health..and our PEOPLE IN THE BOX

I am thankful as well.. every single day.  My mom commented at lunch today. She said, (okay get ready to cry) "you know I am so thankful that you and Emmy found those wonderful people on that message board.  They have changed your life.  Your dad and I couldn't give you the support and understanding that you needed.  And now you both have friends that will forever be a part of your life in some way.  Those girls are so good to Emmy and she loves them, I know.".. Yeah, I know, sniffle, snort, blow!  I told her about how Richard and Clay and Steve took her to brunch.  She just had to laugh and said, "that's Emmy!"..

It is incredibly scary to get out that and try something new.  Sometimes it's a matter of desperation but sometimes it's just a matter of taking a deep breath and trying something crazy. 

My wish for everyone is to just being willing to see and hear something new, something different.  If we keep living life like we did preWLS, we are doomed to go right back.

BECKY--but---WHOM put herself "out there"...drove hundreds of miles...to attend a dinner with a bunch of "strangers"???????? YOU had to put forth the effort-it wouldn't have worked otherwise.THANK GOD YOU DID!!

Amen to that!!!  Sometimes I get it right and this step out of my box paid off big time!

Well dang Paul, you outted where I've been hangin, lol.  No really I went through a period like the rest of you where I wasn't getting what I needed, some days it really isn't just pats on the back I need or I'm wanting to give. 

We've had this conversation before about needing something else.  It's true, we go through phases that require an extra something.  Finding the mix that works best for each of us is important.  I am a member of several boards, not just OH and continue to learn and grow from what I learn from others.

Oh BTW, blame my entrance to R&R on Sharyn, yes that's right I need to blame it on someone.  It's good to "see" some of my TMB folks there at times too!  It sure brings laughter to my life!
