Potatoes~

We did this a couple of nights ago and then again tonight~ Instead of heating up the oven to bake the potatos, we grill them Whole....I wash them real good and coat them with some oil or bacon grease, but I never have bacon grease in the house.  Then I season the outside skins and we grill them for 30-40 minutes...small to medium size....let me tell you all...
OH YUM-O!!!!

Gonna have to try that, sounds yummy.

I made another "throw together" dinner tonight.  Sauteed onions and bell pepper in EVOO, then added some chicken breast and slightly seered them.  Added water and brought it to a boil.  Added one tbsp of roux and a can of cream of onion soup, let it simmer for about 1 1/2 hours.  Then had to figure out how to eat it, no pasta in the house except Ramon Noodle soup, lol so I cooked that in the micro and made me a little pasta dinner and some mixed veggies.

I just LOVE throw togethers...they usually turn out better!  Although...girl you have it on me, I can not make a roux.......I can't even make gravy...LOL

Dang..y'all are making me hungry...my idiots decided they wanted pizza tonight...so I'm sitting here, pouting, with a protein shake, hoping they choke on their pepperoni...I don't even know what the hell a "roux" is,  but I bet I'd eat it!!

Oh you'd eat it, I'm thinking I need a kitchen in September; I'll make a gumbo you'll never forget, lol.  Ask Sara, Terry Ann, Susan, and Jenn, just sayin'.

It appears right now I may have to cancel my plans to be there.  My sister is scheduled for surgery July 22 in Houston and I'll have to be there, it's a pretty serious surgery that'll take 8-10 hours to remove part of her jaw (tumor) and reconstruct the jaw. 

If the surgery does indeed happen then I won't make the BBQ as I'll have to take a couple of days off for her surgery. She'll be in ICU for 24-48 hours.

I'm bummed I may not be there but wouldn't not be there with my family for sis's surgery.

I do plan on making the OH convention in September my late birthday present.

gina if u make saug gravy u make a very light roux- roux is what u get whenu cook flour n oil/fat/greese together- rouxs are cooked till they get darker- the darker the more flavor
