Good evening everyone.  It is a wonderful evening.  My last work week before vacation.  The TEXAS RANGERS are in first place and have the best record in the American League.  I and my family are healthy.  Life is wonderful.

Prayer requests are listed below.

I do ask that you keep me updated on requests.  Often.  Please.

Also, please feel free to just visit here.  Tell us about how your day went.  Your successes.  Your failures.  Your fun.  Whatever.  When I post this thread, I do not have access to any chat programs, so this sometimes substitute as that vessel for me.

Continue to keep your thoughts and prayers for the members of our Armed Forces serving around the world, especially during this time of increased awareness.  Please thank God for these men and women every day.  In addition, please keep the wives and family members in your thoughts.

PEOPLE SEEKING EMPLOYMENT:

Avis
James - Phyllis' "friend"
Jennifer
- (Cruise Director Julie)
Nina

Those who are not yet unemployed, but layoffs are looming

Anne -(Lalocaweta) - Please pray for her as she undergoes treatment for a medical problem she is facing.

Cindy Mc - a coworker has a 5 yr old son who was diagnosed at 3 with Metastatic Retinoblastoma.  He lost his right eye, but through chemo and radiation it was thought the cancer was gone.  It is back and spreading in his brain.
There is no cure and they are treating him with some oral Chemo medication right now. I am just asking that you pray for Isaac Xavuer Vasques-Grimmett. He is a precious little boy who has been through a whole lot of difficult times in his 5 short years. We are praying for a miracle but if we can't get that... For God's mercy and grace to keep this precious little boy and his family from suffering too much. Update:  Isaac is on his way to St Jude's to try something.  Please continiue prayers.

Dana - requests prayer for her family.

Debra - has been put on no work by doctor due to memory loss that is related to recent hospitalization.  Also, with the no work comes less pay.  Prayers for the financial side of the situation.

Gina J. - Pray for her 6 year old Marina, diagnosed with a terminal illness at age 2.
She has improved, but still needs our prayers.  Pray for this brave little girl.

Janet (1divaatheart) says her husband's tumor is shrinking (Praise God!).  She does need prayer for herself and her family, as her father has entered hospice care due to his cancer and her mother has been hospitalized for her Altheimerz.

Karen (Misty750342002) - A friend of Karen's from work (who is like a son to her), Dustin Murphy, is 24 years old and has been diagnosed with Hodgkins Disease.

Prplecat asks prayer for her health battles as well as the family's move to Wichita Falls.

Vicki V.  - husband Patrick continues to have health problems.  Update on Patrick.  His most recent diagnosis from the neurologist is Ataxia and Neuropathy of the left side.  Which basically means he has virtually no feeling in his left leg and foot - probably the results of both a broken femur (more than 30 years ago) and his more recent heart and lung surgeries and the bed confinement from all of those.

Vanessa (Butterfly Reborn) - requests prayer for her family.  There were no specifics, but I am sure the Lord knows.

Vanessa - We have all followed the story of Elizabeth.  Here is her Caringbridge page:

Hi George !!
(10:00pm)
I won't be on long tonight.  Heading to bed.  Woke up at 7am this morning and due to sleep apnea machine not working correctly ( had it tested last Friday) - I'm not sleeping well -  at least now I know why and can confirm why i'm already sleepy during the day !       I'm in process of getting another one -  should have it either Tuesday or Wednesday - just waiting for insurance processes approval...etc................ we all know that process all too well !!

This holiday weekend is going well for me.  I"ve had 2 days at home more or less and just really relaxed.  Did some work around the house / apt yesterday and just enjoyed being at home.    I did work today for about 5 hours  - 8-1 - so that wasn't too too bad.   Weather was questionable this morning any way - so didn't plan anything to do just in case.

James came home from San Antonio on FRiday afternoon from his vacation and so we spent most of yesterday afternoon and yesterday evening together as well as this afternoon too.  He just left to go home for the evening.      Since I'm off work tomorrow, we'll get to spend some time together tomorrow also - and then off for the week to begin !!

Not much more than that planned for tomorrow.  I"ll probably work on lunch stuff tomorrow evening after James leaves and then off to bed probably around 9pm to make up  and get ready for Tuessday work week !!   whoo hooooo.

I'll ttyl tomorrow sometime.   Have a GREAT evening.    GO RANGERS !!
  • Pease check out Dr. Connie Stapleton's Website. A lot of good information on there for all WLS patients regardless of the surgery you chose.  Good luck to all and I'm here for you if you want to send me an email.  I'll answer it as soon as possible.

Hi George....even though my week went bad as far as great friend passing away....my house flooding......my crown coming off......I had a 7 1/2 lb. weight loss !!!!  That is HUGE for someone 3 1/2 yrs post op.    WOO HOOO    I am so thrilled.    My body had held onto that weight for 7 months.   I am thrilled beyond words that it is off.   Hope you have a great week.   Our church honored graduating seniors this AM then we have baccaulaurete from 2 - 4.   Very busy day.

I hear ya.  When things go bad for me, I just tell myself, He has a reason.  My son lost his job and was having marital problems.  Things have completely turned around.  My son said it was all because He had a reason.  Brad says it was God kicking his butt to get his attention. (not saying that is why it happened to you, but we never know what God has in store for us).

Amen to that George.    I look at it as God turned this bit of bad luck into a blessing !!!!  Everyone that truely knows me well....knows I am really bad about procrastinating on doing things.    I have been talking about remodeling my house for 2 yrs now.   Now I have to do it since my carpet was ruined.     No more procrastinating on doing this anymore.   I guess you could say God kicked my butt too by allowing this to happen in order to get it done.   LOL  By the way....I came by the procrastinating naturally...my Mom was the very worse !!!   LOL   Have a fantastic holiday...hope you have the day off !!!!

Evening George,

Go Rangers!!!  I hope they continue on their winning ways!!  Not a whole lot new here.  I helped with a concession stand for DD's old basketball team yesterday (I'm an orphan this weekend, she's with her dad)  even though she doesn't play with them any more, I still have a close connection with one of the girls that is still there.  Had a total blast giving the kids a hard time!!  Went to a graduation party this afternoon for a young lady that graduated with honors from the University of Missouri, she majored in broadcast journalism, and will be moving to New York this summer....  and yes I will beg, if anyone has any contacts in that area, and could help her get connected, it would be greatly appreciated.. seems like these days, you have to know someone to even get your foot partially in the door...

Prayers for all of the spoken and unspoken requests.  Special prayers for our kids Elizabeth Grace and Isaac, I pray that the Lord will guide the doctors to find a cure for their cancers.  Special prayers for their parents also.  Blessings to all.

Even though you were an orphan, it appears you kept yourself busy.  Thanks for dropping by.

Avis;

Is she looking to do hard reporting or any sort of broadcasting? I have a friend at Sirius radio who is a producer for Martha Stewart's channel. I can get in touch with him and see what they have going on.
Blessings, Jennifer
