Home from vacation...and a little wow
DH and I got home last night from our 2 week dive trip to Roatan, Honduras. If it hadn't been for missing our fur babies we wouldn't have been ready to come home! The resort had excellent food so it was pretty easy to stay pretty much on plan, they had the best spring greens type salads every days...nothing I recognized. DH said they were probably weeds! I made a real effort to journal my food every day, mainly because I'm still in the supervised diet stage and need to report it.
I use My Fitness Pal for my online journaling. What amazed me was the calories I earned everyday for diving. We're talking about 3500-4000 cal. per day! To me diving is so effortless, so relaxing. But when really thinking about it, you're in almost constant motion with the resistance of water. Whatever.....I like it and it pays off! I just wi**** was something I could do daily.
The little wow was getting on the scale this morning and seeing that I lost 3lbs during that 2 weeks of sun and fun!
So tomorrow, it's back to the real world with real food and the need for exercise.....I'll start the water aerobics this week!

I was thinking the same as Vivian. Losing 3 lbs on vacation is amazing. That is when we normally forget ourselves.
I am going on vacation next week and my hope is I stay steady. That will be a plus to me. Mary and I already decided when we go eat we will share one meal. No place to put leftovers, so do it the easy way. And economical too.

Dana, the water was fantastic! A constant 81º, just cool enough for a thin, shorty wetsuit. Visability was over 100ft most days. It's really cool to look over the side of the boat and see the bottom 80ft+ down! The first week we had 6-8ft seas so we did mostly shore diving, that bucking ladder makes getting back on the boat a tricky operation! The second week had flat, calm seas so we made up for the dives we missed the first week.
I have a few photos. I discovered after a few days that I had forgotten to pack the battery charger for my camera! DUH! But I got a few that will remind me of this trip. I took more video than anything. I love the swim throughs and still pics just don't convey the feeling of going through them. I'm hoping to get them all off the netbook and into my online albums this week...so many other things have priority after 2 weeks away!
