Hello everyone!!

I came home from the hospital yesterday and am just taking it easy.  I've become one with the wonton broth from wonton soup.  Mom and I are going to experiment today and try making just the broth-Chinese Chicken Broth

Plus I found a recipe for sugar free/aspartame free jello made with Splenda but I could not eat it.  So this afternoon we are going to make another version with 100% fruit juice but no added sugar.

If anyone has any other ideas I will gladly take them.  I do get to switch to full liquids on Monday so that will help and give me more options.

Thanks for all the warm wishes that ya'll posted for me.

Miranda, I enjoyed the packets of chicken and shrimp from Ramon noodle soup.  It was cheap so I threw the noodles away.  Have you bought any sugar free popcicles, those were yummy early out.

Glad you are home, hope you continue to heal well.

I could not eat the jello or pudding consistency for a year after surgery! Some have no trouble with it! Be careful of fruit juice it can have alot of natural sugar which may or may not cause you to dump. It was 14 months till I could really eat fruit but I still stay away from drinking the stuff!

The broth from chicken tortilla soup is wonderful!! When you can puree the soup it is great because it has so much flavor! Also try sf banana pops from Kroger! Yummy!!

I will think on it and let you know more!!

MIRANDA-please DO take it easy and let your sweet mama take care of you. Get as many fluids in as you can-whatever you can tolerate-watered down Crystal Light was/is one of my favorite. For nausea hot mint tea is my staple. I'm 7 years out and STILL don't get thru a day without a Blue Bell SF popsicle.

Did the jello make you sick? Maybe just drinking jello liquid-while warm would would better for you.

Mostly just keep drinking-and peeing-and walking!

The Splenda jello did not work too well, to me it had a funny aftertaste.   The jello made just from 100% juice worked well so far but since it is high in sugar I will only eat once per day.

My biggest problems with the sugar free stuff is that I am allergic to aspartame and a little bit to saccrin.

So far I tolerate best, hot mint tea, and wonton soup broth.  We tried making some broth here but it is not as good as the restaurants.   I called PF Changs last night and talked to the General Manager and he gave me a big bowl of broth for FREE!!  Mom went to pick it up for me today. :)

I'm trying to take it easy but I did clean the stove, microwave and kitchen sink today.  Did it slowly and it took me about twice as long as normal.  But whew it wore me out big time and I crashed for about an hour after.

The worst is I am all sore from them pumping me full of gas to do the procedure and I keep coughing which only makes that worse.

Walking, when you can, will help with that gas.  That crap can settle up in the upper chest and shoulder area and I swear, makes you feel like your body is in a vice which is why you'll hear everyone say, "walk, walk, walk"!  Just take it easy though and don't overdo it.  Every day will get better and better!
