The NIGH****CHMAN 5/19
Good evening all. Another night. The Rangers lost. That does not start off my night too good(well?).
Prayer requests are listed below.
I do ask that you keep me updated on requests. Often. Please.
Also, please feel free to just visit here. Tell us about how your day went. Your successes. Your failures. Your fun. Whatever. When I post this thread, I do not have access to any chat programs, so this sometimes substitute as that vessel for me.
Continue to keep your thoughts and prayers for the members of our Armed Forces serving around the world, especially during this time of increased awareness. Please thank God for these men and women every day. In addition, please keep the wives and family members in your thoughts.
Three wonderful people - Ramon, Yvonne, and Debra - are having their conference in May (15-17) in Galveston. Also, pray for Sean as he assists them. Prayers for a successful weekend of paying it forward.
PEOPLE SEEKING EMPLOYMENT:
James - Phyllis' "friend"
Jennifer - (Cruise Director Julie)
Nina
Those who are not yet unemployed, but layoffs are looming
Anne -(Lalocaweta) - Please pray for her as she undergoes treatment for a medical problem she is facing.
Cindy Mc - a coworker has a 5 yr old son who was diagnosed at 3 with Metastatic Retinoblastoma. He lost his right eye, but through chemo and radiation it was thought the cancer was gone. It is back and spreading in his brain. There is no cure and they are treating him with some oral Chemo medication right now. I am just asking that you pray for Isaac Xavuer Vasques-Grimmett. He is a precious little boy who has been through a whole lot of difficult times in his 5 short years. We are praying for a miracle but if we can't get that... For God's mercy and grace to keep this precious little boy and his family from suffering too much. Update: Isaac is on his way to St Jude's to try something. Please continiue prayers.
Dana - requests prayer for her family.
Debra - has been put on no work by doctor due to memory loss that is related to recent hospitalization. Also, with the no work comes less pay. Prayers for the financial side of the situation.
Gina J. - Pray for her 6 year old Marina, diagnosed with a terminal illness at age 2. She has improved, but still needs our prayers. Pray for this brave little girl.
Janet (1divaatheart) says her husband's tumor is shrinking (Praise God!). She does need prayer for herself and her family, as her father has entered hospice care due to his cancer and her mother has been hospitalized for her Altheimerz.
Jodie requests prayer for Raymond who is having a cardio cath on 5/13 in the morning.
Karen (Misty750342002) - A friend of Karen's from work (who is like a son to her), Dustin Murphy, is 24 years old and has been diagnosed with Hodgkins Disease.
Prplecat asks prayer for her health battles as well as the family's move to Wichita Falls.
Vicki V. - husband Patrick continues to have health problems. Update on Patrick. His most recent diagnosis from the neurologist is Ataxia and Neuropathy of the left side. Which basically means he has virtually no feeling in his left leg and foot - probably the results of both a broken femur (more than 30 years ago) and his more recent heart and lung surgeries and the bed confinement from all of those.
Vanessa (Butterfly Reborn) - requests prayer for her family. There were no specifics, but I am sure the Lord knows.
Vanessa - We have all followed the story of Elizabeth. Here is her Caringbridge page:

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!
Hi George;
Not much going on today. I revised my resume again. Amazing how four weeks out of work made me go back and word things stronger and more definitively. I also wrote a new, more aggressive cover letter. I found another recruiter with offices in Dallas and Atlanta and registered with them. Sent out a few more resumes and went to the gym. I'm up to 525 crunches with 40 lbs. on my shoulders. My abs still don't look as good as one would expect with all those crunches. Although they do look better than they did a month ago so I probably shouldn't complain.
Tomorrow, I've got to attend a job fair that Texas Workforce Commission is hosting. I'm sure it will be lots of $10/hour or less jobs but I'm going because it shows the state I'm following their guidelines.
Oh and I made a follow-up call to the HR chick I interviewed with in Dallas last week to see what the status of my resume and next interview was. She said she hadn't heard back from the Client Services Director but would follow-up with him and let me know if we can schedule something for Friday or Tuesday.
The highlight of my day was definitely the Wings OT win. 2-0 for the series and heading to Chicago for Friday's game.
That's all I've got. I'll be around for a while. Have a good night. Prayers for all who need them.

And prayers definitely for your situation. Apparently you had a better day today. I guess Mondays are bad for you, with it being the start of the work week and you are at home. Prayers not only for you job, but for you easy move to the Dallas area. Then you will be able to see the Red Wings a couple of times a year here.
GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!
Thanks. It also doesn't help that I lost my job on a Monday. In addition to having nowhere to be on Mondays, I get to recognize that it's been X weeks since I lost my job.
Dallas would be good. We'd have family nearby, lots of friends, only 15 hours to get home if we needed to, and yes, Wings 2x/year regular season and then the playoffs. Assuming Dallas makes it. ;)

Hey George....
Busy day and evening. Went to support group at the Davis' new place. WOW...what a nice place and SOOOO much easier to get to instead of that medical center!
Not a very good day in our household though. V had to go see the ENT for pain she was having in her left ear. It had been a while since she was on the scale. She almost REFUSED to get on it. I told her it wasn't for a scolding had it gone up, but rather so if they needed to prescribe her meds, they could do so correctly so the correct dose is given based on the weight. Wellll, it has risen yet again, this time significantly and she was instantly bummed. No kidding, me too. OMG, been there, done that. She is trying SO hard and still nothing. We've had her tested for all the obvious stuff and all comes back "normal". So what happens, hubby yells at her. Well, HELLO dork, that is NOT going to accomplish anything! She is lucky I HAVE been there and I know what she's going through. She just cried and cried. Just broke my heart. He wants to send her to a "fat camp" and take tennis away. He doesn't think that is helping. I said, "maybe not, but if you take away exercise that she LOVES, she will not be successful with anything else because you've taken away the one thing she ENJOYS doing! Soooo, everyone was told to go to their respective "corner" and cool down. I'm sure that's going to be a lovely ride to school tomorrow since they drop H off first, THEN to her school. After the big blow out over the weekend, man, I need a break from all this damn drama. Sheeeeesh!
Check back in with ya' later...
