Waiting on surgeon to return call...hernia...any ideas??
Long story short, a week ago I was told I had a ventral hernia. I had a CT scan done on Friday, but have to not heard the results yet.
Today at noon I had an immediate onset of sharp pains in my abdomen. The only other time I had this was about three weeks ago and it lasted for NINE hours and then all of the sudden quit. I took all kinds of Gas-X, tums, chewables, pills etc. thinking maybe somehow it was gas that I'd never felt, but none of it worked.
Anyway, today is very bad pain, very bad. I called the surgeon and had to leave a message and waiting on a call back.
For a minute, I thought it went away and then I drank some water and it brought the pain back. What the hell is that about?
Any ideas???
Not trying to scare you sweetie but don't let this wait, pain is the indication of a problem.

I agree with Dana for sure- I have had a bowel obstruction and a bad hernia-neither are very fun- they just get worse and worse. Have him paged or go to the ER that you know he works out of. Once they find out about weight loss surgery they won't touch you beyond diagnosing it. This is from experience-went to hospital in FW, transported to Renassance via an ambulance that cost me a pretty penny at midnight to where Dr Barker practiced.

...was resolved without surgery BUT was absolutely necessary for me to go in for treatment. So Please take the advice here and go...you will not know if you don't...keep us posted...
