The NIGH****CHMAN 5/18

Good evening all.  Should be an easy night.  At least I hope so.

Tonight I was on the phone with Andy Silverman, Rangers Sales VP.  Talking about something that had happened at the Ballpark.  Nolan Ryan stuck his head in Andy's office to say goodnight.  Andy told him to say hi to me, and explained I was a half season ticket holder and Mary was with the TRWC.  Nolan yells out "Hey George, how about those first place Texas Rangers!"

I love that team.

Prayer requests are listed below.

I do ask that you keep me updated on requests.  Often.  Please.

Also, please feel free to just visit here.  Tell us about how your day went.  Your successes.  Your failures.  Your fun.  Whatever.  When I post this thread, I do not have access to any chat programs, so this sometimes substitute as that vessel for me.

Continue to keep your thoughts and prayers for the members of our Armed Forces serving around the world, especially during this time of increased awareness.  Please thank God for these men and women every day.  In addition, please keep the wives and family members in your thoughts.

Three wonderful people - Ramon, Yvonne, and Debra - are having their conference in May (15-17) in Galveston.  Also, pray for Sean as he assists them.   Prayers for a successful weekend of paying it forward.

PEOPLE SEEKING EMPLOYMENT:

James - Phyllis' "friend"
Jennifer
- (Cruise Director Julie)
Nina

Those who are not yet unemployed, but layoffs are looming

Anne -(Lalocaweta) - Please pray for her as she undergoes treatment for a medical problem she is facing.

Cindy Mc - a coworker has a 5 yr old son who was diagnosed at 3 with Metastatic Retinoblastoma.  He lost his right eye, but through chemo and radiation it was thought the cancer was gone.  It is back and spreading in his brain.
There is no cure and they are treating him with some oral Chemo medication right now. I am just asking that you pray for Isaac Xavuer Vasques-Grimmett. He is a precious little boy who has been through a whole lot of difficult times in his 5 short years. We are praying for a miracle but if we can't get that... For God's mercy and grace to keep this precious little boy and his family from suffering too much. Update:  Isaac is on his way to St Jude's to try something.  Please continiue prayers.

Dana - requests prayer for her family.

Debra - has been put on no work by doctor due to memory loss that is related to recent hospitalization.  Also, with the no work comes less pay.  Prayers for the financial side of the situation.

Gina J. - Pray for her 6 year old Marina, diagnosed with a terminal illness at age 2.
She has improved, but still needs our prayers.  Pray for this brave little girl.

Janet (1divaatheart) says her husband's tumor is shrinking (Praise God!).  She does need prayer for herself and her family, as her father has entered hospice care due to his cancer and her mother has been hospitalized for her Altheimerz.

Jodie requests prayer for Raymond who is having a cardio cath on 5/13 in the morning.

Karen (Misty750342002) - A friend of Karen's from work (who is like a son to her), Dustin Murphy, is 24 years old and has been diagnosed with Hodgkins Disease.

Prplecat asks prayer for her health battles as well as the family's move to Wichita Falls.

Vicki V.  - husband Patrick continues to have health problems.  Update on Patrick.  His most recent diagnosis from the neurologist is Ataxia and Neuropathy of the left side.  Which basically means he has virtually no feeling in his left leg and foot - probably the results of both a broken femur (more than 30 years ago) and his more recent heart and lung surgeries and the bed confinement from all of those.

Vanessa (Butterfly Reborn) - requests prayer for her family.  There were no specifics, but I am sure the Lord knows.

Vanessa - We have all followed the story of Elizabeth.  Here is her Caringbridge page:

Well, I'm not proud to admit it, but the Monday Meltdown happened again. It wasn't nearly as bad as the previous Mondays, but it wasn't pretty. I was fine until I returned a voicemail from Friday from one of my former colleagues who was not the sharpest pencil in the cup yet kept his job in the re-org. All of the anger and resentment that I'd been able to let go of over the past 3.5 weeks (the last time I spoke to him), came rushing back and I completely lost it for about 2 hours.

I just want to know where we're going to live and where I'm going to work. I hate this uncertainty. This was not in my plan for 2009.

Prayers for all who need them.
Blessings, Jennifer

Jennifer,

I know exactly how you feel! I keep getting phone calls from former manager asking me questions about my fields and the person they kept Refuses to travel.....let's see 40% of my job was travel! Also, all the new volunteers and organizations that I recruited right before I left she is getting credit for. That was my baby! I feel resentment and jealousy at times, but I have to move forward and look at this as an opportunity to start a new career. But yes.....it's sucks!

Your loved!

I understand you concerns with the uncertainty.  I hope I never have to experience that again.  My house is a little crowded, as our three bedroom is only a one bedroom and 2 office, otherwise I would let you and that guy that hangs around with you move in.

It has to be frustrating to  see who they keep and think "and they let me go????".

God has a plan.  He will reveal it to you in His time.  Hang in there.

edited to add:  I don't know if they are calling to ask for help, but if they are, they would not get much from me except a bunch of "I really can't remembers"

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!

A little birdie told me they are talking about asking those that they laid off to do contract work thru the summer to recruit host families. My answer will be a big NO! I'm not going to give up another summer to do the hardest part of the job without the benefits!

Hugs,

Lynnette

No, they weren't asking for help. I think they know better than that.

He put in his resignation two Fridays ago and seemed to want to make sure I knew that he was leaving. It was all very insulting. Especially the part where he told me that the response from mgmt when he resigned was "We wish we'd had this information when we were deciding who to keep." Another guy with the same title that I had resigned today as well, so they laid 7 of 17 off and 2 more have resigned in the last 4 weeks. I'm guessing they're not replacing the 2 that have resigned as I haven't heard of anyone getting a call back, yet.

I'm bitter. The guy I talked to today wasn't working 1/2 as hard as I was, wasn't making quota, etc. and not only did he keep his job, but he's now got an even better one without having to live the uncertainty and frustration that I'm living. I'm too old to not know where I'm going to be living in 2 months.
Blessings, Jennifer
