So TIRED of PCOS (Self Pay ?'s : Doc Suggestions : VSG)
So last week I had to fire someone at my company. Anytime I have a higher level of stress/testosterone + eat carbs.. My body goes into a menstruation.
This has went on for the last 4 years of my life.
I'm 5'7 and go between 250 and 270 lbs back and forth. I've preop to the surgery. Self employed and hubby works for WMT. I have self employment insurance and WMT doesn't pay for it.
I'm going to have to be self pay.
I"ve been wanting to just focus on eating right and saving up the money... but the PCOS is killing me. I don't think it's mentally gotten to me this bad til this morning.
The bleeding had stopped yesterday... I'm in the middle of a pill pack for my birth control. I shouldn't be bleeding. I worked all night last night..and I wake up to bleeding horribly AGAIN.
My mother has offered to give me 12k... and I have about 4k saved up on my own...
I'm wanting VSG...
What are the doctors prices for VSG here in Houston? Who does everyone recommend?
We met with Dr. Davis back in December.. and I think it was 18k... but does anyone do the VSG for c heaper and are reputable?
My husband LOVED Dr. Davis and trusted him IMMENSELY... but since I'm self pay... I'd maybe give someone else a try..
Thank you.

After my little mini breakdown on here... I called my mother and she's going to loan me a significant amount towards it.. and told me to just go ahead with the Davis's...
I have an appointment with Robert Davis on May 28th... So I think that's just what I'm going to do.
I am just so sick of the PCOS and symptoms. I don't even hate being a little fat girl. I'm very, very active. Love to work out. Love the gym. Enjoy shopping at Torrid.. lol. But I just can't take the PCOS any longer.
I'm at my wits end with it.
I think the Davis' are 17-18k for the VSG.

In Dr. Davis' seminar, I asked him if he was self employed, no chance at insurance paying for it, already active, on vitamins, with a goal weight at around 100 lbs lost... with insulin resistance and PCOS.. What would he do? He said he believed the VSG was almost an instant cure for diabetes/insulin resistance as well... And I think his presentation said something about the excess greylin producing part of the stomach that they get rid of.. is triggered by our over abundance of male hormone...
He also had a chart that showed VSG's efficiency being like 5% only lower than RNY in terms of excess weight lost on average...
So for me.. it's mostly price.
and I work out ALOT. I'm REALLY active.. and I like that there's not a whole lot of malabsorption or messing with nutrients going on...

I don't know much about medical loans but I know they are out there. If you have the majority of the payment then maybe you could get a small loan for the rest.
I can only imagine what you are going through. My reason for surgery was diabetes. I was so tired of being sick and taking shots and pills. I didnt' want to have to live like that for the rest of my life or what life I might have had left. This surgery is going to do so much for you. You are in my prayers. I hope it all comes together for you. Keep us posted.
