The NIGH****CHMAN 5/14
Hello. My name is George. I am addicted to baseball.
Set the alarm to get up early so I could watch the Rangers. Got to be crazy.
Hope everyone is having a good day.
Please pray for those listed below.
Prayer requests are listed below.
I do ask that you keep me updated on requests. Often. Please.
Also, please feel free to just visit here. Tell us about how your day went. Your successes. Your failures. Your fun. Whatever. When I post this thread, I do not have access to any chat programs, so this sometimes substitute as that vessel for me.
Continue to keep your thoughts and prayers for the members of our Armed Forces serving around the world, especially during this time of increased awareness. Please thank God for these men and women every day. In addition, please keep the wives and family members in your thoughts.
Three wonderful people - Ramon, Yvonne, and Debra - are having their conference in May (15-17) in Galveston. Also, pray for Sean as he assists them. Prayers for a successful weekend of paying it forward.
PEOPLE SEEKING EMPLOYMENT:
James - Phyllis' "friend"
Jennifer - (Cruise Director Julie)
Nina
Those who are not yet unemployed, but layoffs are looming
Anne -(Lalocaweta) - Please pray for her as she undergoes treatment for a medical problem she is facing.
Cindy Mc - a coworker has a 5 yr old son who was diagnosed at 3 with Metastatic Retinoblastoma. He lost his right eye, but through chemo and radiation it was thought the cancer was gone. It is back and spreading in his brain. There is no cure and they are treating him with some oral Chemo medication right now. I am just asking that you pray for Isaac Xavuer Vasques-Grimmett. He is a precious little boy who has been through a whole lot of difficult times in his 5 short years. We are praying for a miracle but if we can't get that... For God's mercy and grace to keep this precious little boy and his family from suffering too much. Update: Isaac is on his way to St Jude's to try something. Please continiue prayers.
Dana - requests prayer for her family.
Debra - has been put on no work by doctor due to memory loss that is related to recent hospitalization. Also, with the no work comes less pay. Prayers for the financial side of the situation.
Gina J. - Pray for her 6 year old Marina, diagnosed with a terminal illness at age 2. She has improved, but still needs our prayers. Pray for this brave little girl.
Janet (1divaatheart) says her husband's tumor is shrinking (Praise God!). She does need prayer for herself and her family, as her father has entered hospice care due to his cancer and her mother has been hospitalized for her Altheimerz.
Jodie requests prayer for Raymond who is having a cardio cath on 5/13 in the morning.
Karen (Misty750342002) - A friend of Karen's from work (who is like a son to her), Dustin Murphy, is 24 years old and has been diagnosed with Hodgkins Disease.
Prplecat asks prayer for her health battles as well as the family's move to Wichita Falls.
Vicki V. - husband Patrick continues to have health problems. Update on Patrick. His most recent diagnosis from the neurologist is Ataxia and Neuropathy of the left side. Which basically means he has virtually no feeling in his left leg and foot - probably the results of both a broken femur (more than 30 years ago) and his more recent heart and lung surgeries and the bed confinement from all of those.
Vanessa (Butterfly Reborn) - requests prayer for her family. There were no specifics, but I am sure the Lord knows.
Vanessa - We have all followed the story of Elizabeth. Here is her Caringbridge page:

It's been quite the afternoon here...
I got up this morning and decided to tear apart the kitchen. We have a window seat in the breakfast nook and it tends to be a "catch-all" for any junk that was on the table or counter when we need the table or counter space for something else. I pulled everything off of there. Threw lots of old magazines and phone books away. Wiped it down, dusted and only put a few things back on it. While I was doing all this, I kept hearing a scratching noise from above. It sounded like some sort of medium sized critter and it was not one that I have named as both Brown Dog and White Dog were within my line of sight while I was hearing this.
I couldn't figure it out, but had to get ready to go to an appointment. When I was upstairs in my bathroom getting ready, I noticed I could still hear a scratching noise, but it was coming from below. Great...there's something between the ceiling of the first floor and the floor of the second... I have no idea what to do and 15 minutes to get to my appointment, so I left.
After my appointment, I ran through the grocery, the bank, and hit happy hour at Sonic. I get home and there is a bird in the light fixture above the preparation island in my kitchen! What the heck am I supposed to do with that?
I ended up opening the back door and getting the dogs. I took down the ceiling fixture and was showered with 10 years of icky that was up there (as I'm sure this was the first time it has been taken down since the initial installation). And the bird is gone. It's gone back up into the ceiling.
I take the ceiling fixture out to the garage so Michael can clean it when he gets home tomorrow (I had to take it down, so he can clean it!) and grab the vacuum cleaner on the way back. Vacuum up all the dust and crap that fell out of the ceiling. Still no bird. At this point I really have no idea what to do. What if it doesn't come out and it's bedtime? What do I do then?
I keep peeking up there and suddenly start to see wires in the ceiling moving around. Eeek!!! It is still up there!!! It starts peeking it's head out of the hole in the ceiling at me. I start talking to it trying to get it to come out. (I know stupid, but what else was I going to do?) After 5 minutes of talking, it's still nowhere near coming out so I put on my gardening gloves, climbed back up on the counter, reached up into the ceiling and grabbed it. It squirmed, I screamed and dropped it. White Dog and Brown Dog keeping true to their bird dog heritage are all over the situation! I'm screaming more "No! No! Leave the birdy alone!!!" I finally get the bird outside. It's young and can't fly, yet so it's trapped in my back yard. And my bird dogs want it. I still haven't figured out what to do next. So, the dogs are in their crates and I'm hoping the bird will figure out how to get out of the back yard before it's time for the dogs to potty again.
There better not be any more wildlife in my house until after Michael gets home. I'm not equipped to handle this!

I'm sorry Jenn, and I'm not laughing at you but this is funny. You'll need to go back and read this later.....after you're sure the bird is gone.
I'd probably do the same thing you did, of course, there would be some yelling for help to my neighbor too.

Oh, I see the humor in it. I'm sure I looked like a complete idiot standing on my counter screaming like a school girl.
For the final chapter:
The bird made it out of the back yard, however, the feral cat that shares time between our neighbor's porch and ours seems to have gotten it. I just texted Michael "You get to clean the front porch when u get home." So, not the ending I was hoping for, but at least the only critters in my house at the moment are ones I've brought in and named.

Evening George! Would you please add my family to the prayer list. There are several things going on so I won't mention the details, prayers that everything works out and that health issues are resolved.
