Hi.  I am seriously considering Lap-Band but my insurance will not pay because my BMI hasn't been over 40 for 5 years and I don't fit their co-morbidities.  So...looking into financing to pay cash and debating if Mexico is a viable option.  Am interested in hearing from anyone near the Dallas-Ft. Worth area who has had lap-band with a local surgeon or anyone who has financed their surgery.  Thanks so much.

Love love love my doctor and I know he has self-pay benefits...don't know what they are except that you have your surgery in a special bariatric surgery center and the follow-up and fills are there too.  It's in Richardson.  There aren't enough words to express how I feel about my doc.  Just see my profile for pics of me before and after and THAT says it all!!

GLGLGL!

Thanks!  I will definitely contact his office.  Your page is very inspiring.  I'm going to my first seminar tomorrow after work but feel pretty strongly that LB is right for me.

Thanks. I know someone in a rural area who has had to travel a couple hours to even find a dr. willing to do her fills after LB in Mexico. It scares me to do this because if I have complications then insurance won't pay. I have enough money to go to Mexico but am really wanting to go w a local surgeon. It is very emotional to decide and I'm really happy to find this site for info and inspiration.
