Hello from Dallas

Hello-

I just wanted to stop in and say hi to my fellow Texas WLS folks.  I am new to the website and I was wondering if their are any groups meeting in the South East Dallas area close to Mesquite and Seagoville area.  I had Lap Band in Oct of 08 and I am loving it.  I have also been looking for an exercise buddy in my area.  If anyone knows of someone please let me know.  I usually work out at Bally's Total Fitness in Mesquite.

Hi -- welcome to the TMB!  I live in east Dallas too, although closer in (Mockingbird/Central area).

The closest support group I know of is at Baylor near downtown, but that is only for patients of Baylor-affiliated surgeons.  If you are eligible/interested, I'd be glad to tell you the next few meeting dates and times.

There is also a social group that meets for breakfast on the first Saturday of every month at IKEA in Frisco.  That is quite far for me, as it would be for you, but at least I am ABLE to get there if I choose to, simply because it's not on a weekday.  Nice people there too.

I'm sure others will chime in if they know of groups in east Dallas ...

Good job jumping right in.  Hey all, this is my sister's ex-husbands wife.  So my neice and nephew's stepmom.  She's a really nice lady so welcome her to the boards. 

You will hear alot about RYD.  This is a conference that quite a few people will be attending this weekend so the board will be kind of quiet for the next few days but it will pick back up on Monday. 

 The Terrell Troopers should be not too far from you ..  if they still meet bi-weekly ..   Anyone know?

we (terrell troopers) do not meet bw-weekly now, but our next meeting is TOMORROW at the starbucks located at I20 exit for hwy 34.  Meet at 9am.

Hi Renee, welcome to the board.  The Dallas area (although very big) has lots of functions that go on, hope you can make some of them the ladies and gents there are great folks.

I'm a Dr. B patient too..  Had my LB in March 2007, down 90 lbs, and lovin my band!!  Lots of great folks here, with a ton of experience and lots of info and great advise!  Might be a quiet weekend because of the conference in Galveston, but it will pick back up.

RENEE-Welcome to the TMB (Tx Message Board) family!! ANNETTE "vouching" for you is MORE than enough for me. I consider her to be my sister, and we "met", originally, right HERE. Jump right in-OFTEN- with any questions, comments, etc you may have. It may a little slow the next few days, but there WILL be people here. Weekends are always a little slow on the board, and several of us have an event we are attending.

Renee join us in Terrell.  It is a great group.  We have changed out meeting to just once a month because many like going over the the support group that meets at Doctor's Hospital on the 4th Saturday of the month.  We meet at the Starbucks across from the outlet mall.
