the long road home...

I'll be traveling today to Harlingen to see my parents.  My father was taken to a comfort home for hospice care on Monday.  My brother and sister-in-law found a nursing home for my mother who has Alzheimer's.  My parents are a mile from one another.  But it's the longest mile ever.  We don't think either one of them can handle a visit to see one another but the jury is still out.
So I'm going to see my father while I can.  Please pray for my family.  My brother, sister-in-law, her sisters and mother are worn out.  I've never had the experience I'm having now so I'm living hour by hour.  All this is in God's hands and my trust is with Him.
To those going to Galveston, have a great weekend full of those things you need.  I'm there in spirit!

God bless you and your family.  This is the part that is so hard.  My mother died two years ago, in her sleep, after having Alzheimer's for 8 years.  My heart is heavy for you and your family.  I pray God will give you the strength you all need to get through this.

Blessings,
Marianne

Thank you.  I just wonder if my mother will live too much longer.  I think it's possible to die of a broken heart.  Physically speaking, she's very healthy but I don't know if she can survive knowing that my father's gone.  We don't know whether to tell her or not when the time comes.  God will provide answers I'm certain.

Janet.....we are praying for your entire family.   Just remeber....God does NOT put more on any of us than we can handle.   Although at times....it feels as though he does.   Praying for you and especially for your parents and Jim.    I have been where you are so I do know how difficult this is for you.   Have a safe trip and drive carefully.

Hugs and blessings ~~~ Vivian

My prayers are with you.  My dad is gone and now my mother has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s.  It is so sad to watch their memory slip away, I just hold on to the memories and her hugs.  I can only imagine what you are going through and I am so sorry.
