so i have been thinking...
...about plastic surgery. ALOT. Sometimes it is all I think about allllll day long. I surf the net, looking at pics, comparing doctors. I am not at goal yet, as you all know :P and am wondering at what point is it to say, ok. This is it. This is all I am going to lose, I want to get my plastics done now. Will the Dr tell me to lose more or will he do what I would like to have done at this weight? I would like some feedback maybe from someone that went to get PS done and the doc said nope, not yet. You need to lose more first. Maybe from someone who did need to lose a little bit more, had it done, then regreted it because then they lost more after the PS and the results are not quite where you want them to be. Heck, IDK...I am just trying to look at this from all angles, cuz this is a pretty damn big deal. I want arms, boobs and LBL done. Sigh. Just typing those words...music to my ears...lol...yet at the same time I am a little scared. I guess fear in the right doses is healthy.
soooo....tell me your PS story please!!! I want to know all the knitty gritty, the good the bad and the ugly...I know there is PS board, but I want the stories from the peeps that I know, love and trust :-)

Hi first off....are you still loosing weight???? If so then most PS won't do surgery on you. Most of them want you to have quit loosing and maintained the weight loss for 6 months before they will do surgery on you. Yes...they WILL do surgey on a person when they are still loosing ( especially if the person was super morbidly obese ) these special people sometimes have to have numerious surgeries in stages so to speak to rid themselves of all the extra skin that they have. I was 27 lbs from my goal weight when I had my LBL. The PS removed 14 lbs of skin in that surgery. You do have to remember though that since we have "bad" skin we can't always expect "Barbie doll" figures or for that matter have all the excess skin removed with one surgery if we have too much skin. That was my case. I can still grab handfulls of skin on each side of my body. I have had major self esteem issues from that but I am getting better about accepting my body as it is and loving myself just the same but it has been 2 yrs since my LBL and I am just NOW getting to that point !!!! SO I would say...don't expect perfection from your PS....if you get perfection then count yourself lucky. LOL If you are one of my friends...you can view my PS photos on my profile. I had MAJOR skin hanging !!!! That is in MHO !!!! Good luck to you with this part of your journey. PS is NO walk in the park though !!!!!

I have been at this weight for a while. I will lose some, then it will come back. I know that is due to what I eat and lack of exercise, so I honestly don't know if I am done losing or not. I have not been faithful to what I know I need to do in order to lose (if I am still capable) for more than a couple weeks, if that, at a time. Maybe that should be my first step, to really commit to focusing on losing, and if I am still capable it will happen.
thanks for the advise and for letting me know that we dont get barbie doll results. I have this image in my head of what i expect things to be like when its over. i dont want to be disappointed so the closer to reality that that image is before i get this done, the less disappointment I think I will feel.

We need to talk, I have some suggestions and things I wish I had done differently. I don't have time right now to go into details and tonight is busy with baseball practice and games. What is your schedule tomorrow afternoon? I'm free after 5:00 tomorrow if you get time call me.

My surgeon requires that you be at a stable weight for six months before he does plastics. Depending on how much skin you need to have removed, you will probably lose some weight after plastics. Not at first though - you will likely weigh MORE right after plastics than before - due to swelling, which can last quite a while.

I hear you sister, definitely give your thoughts on the PS. I've got mine and would definitely recommend different things for others than what I did and if I had the $$$$ to do it again would do it differently too.
