Good morning.  I have a great whoohoo for my Ben.  If you're on Facebook you may have already seen this.  We had sr. honors night and Ben got 13 awards!  I was thrilled.  He got "Distinguished Athlete" award from the Marines (Val. and Sal. got Academic and Fine Arts awards)...only 3 kids out of 236 got them.  He was #25 in his class of 236.  He missed top 10% by 2 kids, but that's okay.  We already knew his ranking.  He got 12 scholarships for next year totaling over $5000 so we were thrilled.  With a $1500 grant from A & M for next year, that gives him enough for about a semester.  Whohoo!  With his TX Tomorrow fund that pays tuition and fees, we should be in great shape this next year.  If any of you have small kids, utilize the TX tomorrow program to help freeze tuition rates at this years rate.  It's the best thing we ever did!

I have a chiro appt. at 8:00 a.m., a full day of work, and then prom decorating until 8:00 or so tonight.  Another busy day for me.

Prayers for all of you who need them.

Have a great day.

Karla

Karla, I'm so happy for Ben.  Hailey graduated #14 out of 700 (top 2%) and got NOTHING!!  The only thing she got was $2000/year from SFA for the first 4 years.  I WISH I had done the Texas Tomorrow fund, I'm sure paying for it now with having to take out all these loans.  Be proud, he must be a special kid to get all that.

Steph,

I started the tomorrow fund for Emm when she was a year old.  My EX father in law kept telling me how stupid I was and I should put it all in STOCKS.   Well when she turned 11, her 4 years of tuition was paid in full to the tune of $7500 and she doesn't go to college till 2013.  Can you imagine what it will cost then.. AND how much we would have now if it were in STOCKS!?
