I am looking for a general doctor in the houston...Katy area that is experienced with people that have had RYN.  I am 4+ years post op.  And need a doctor that will evaluate my vitamin levels and such.

Thanks
Brenda

I'm sure you'll get lots of suggestions from other TMBers, but I'm curious as to why you're not doing your follow up with your own surgeon.   Isn't Dr. W. still in Houston?   Did he retire?

Frank talk about the DS / "All I ever wanted to be was thin, like that Rolling Stones dude ... "

Dr. Wongsa retired several years ago.

Brenda, hopefully one of the ladies from the Katy area will respond.  If at all find an internist, they seem to be more knowledgeable or at least more willing to learn.

How have you been?  It's been a while since I've seen you on the boards.

I really like Adam Weinstein. He's at the Memorial City complex at Gessner and I10. He understands weight loss patients.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Dr. Weinstein and he is located at I-10 and Gessner.  I saw him for my 6 month pre-op diet and have continued to see him since my surgery.  He understands all aspects of WLS, vitamins and many other health problems related to obesity.

Dr Mark Bing is my PCP, and he's pretty good. I've had him order/review labs before, and he's pretty good about follow-up. My surgeon usually orders my labs, though.

Thanks, ladies for reminding me I have been meaning to make an appt with Dr. Weinstein for a well-visit checkup and to become a patient of his if I need a PCP.  I haven't been to a PCP in years and just used my OB-GYN for everything.  He wrote my referral for WLS but doesn't have a clue about our special needs.

I'll use Dr. Garth for my labs and annual follow-ups and such, but I wanted a PCP who is familiar with our plumbing for routine stuff.
