Good evening all.  I am working tonight, so I figured I would start a new NW.

Good day today.  I guess.  Worked this AM.  Went home and watched some baseball on TV.  Came to work.

Prayer requests are listed below.

I do ask that you keep me updated on requests.  Often.  Please.

Also, please feel free to just visit here.  Tell us about how your day went.  Your successes.  Your failures.  Your fun.  Whatever.  When I post this thread, I do not have access to any chat programs, so this sometimes substitute as that vessel for me.

Continue to keep your thoughts and prayers for the members of our Armed Forces serving around the world, especially during this time of increased awareness.  Please thank God for these men and women every day.  In addition, please keep the wives and family members in your thoughts.

Three wonderful people - Ramon, Yvonne, and Debra - are having their conference in May (15-17) in Galveston.  Prayers for a successful weekend of paying it forward.

PEOPLE SEEKING EMPLOYMENT:

James - Phyllis' "friend"
Jennifer
- (Cruise Director Julie)
Nina

Those who are not yet unemployed, but layoffs are looming

Brenda F.  - has some hernias.

Cindy Mc - a coworker has a 5 yr old son who was diagnosed at 3 with Metastatic Retinoblastoma.  He lost his right eye, but through chemo and radiation it was thought the cancer was gone.  It is back and spreading in his brain.
There is no cure and they are treating him with some oral Chemo medication right now. I am just asking that you pray for Isaac Xavuer Vasques-Grimmett. He is a precious little boy who has been through a whole lot of difficult times in his 5 short years. We are praying for a miracle but if we can't get that... For God's mercy and grace to keep this precious little boy and his family from suffering too much.

Debra - has a couple of tests on 5/5 to try and determine complete cause of her problems.

Gina J. - Pray for her 6 year old Marina, diagnosed with a terminal illness at age 2.
She has improved, but still needs our prayers.  Pray for this brave little girl.

Jodie (Jodieblonde) - asking prayers for her friend Melissa and her family.  Melissa's mother is in the end stage of Alzheimers and the family has been called together.  Also prayers for Raymond's best friend's  family.  He lost his father to cancer on 5/5.

Karen (Misty750342002) - A friend of Karen's from work (who is like a son to her), Dustin Murphy, is 24 years old and has been diagnosed with Hodgkins Disease.

Stephanie (tickledpink) - friend, Dutch, was in a motorcycle accident.  Arm broken in 3 places, surgery on 4/27.

Vicki V.  - husband Patrick continues to have health problems.  Awaiting results from neurological testing. More tests are upcoming this week.

Vanessa (Butterfly Reborn) - requests prayer for her family.  There were no specifics, but I am sure the Lord knows.

Vanessa - We have all followed the story of Elizabeth.  Here is her Caringbridge page:

Hey George,
Missed you guys at R&S. It was a good group. Still feeling kinda punk, but I go to the Doc on Wed. Busy, busy day at work! All the last minute Mother's Day shoppers! Two friends came in today. One was from High School, he has not seen me in 4 years and was blown away! The other I have known since preschool and he hasn't seen me since Nov. He was awed and excited when he hugged me he could hug ALL of me. Those two really made my day at work worth it!!
Off tomorrow and having my mother for lunch. Homemade chicken salad, trees and berries salad,  soft herbed cheese and prosciutto wrapped cheese, grapes, strawberries and coffee. I bought a small fruit tart for Mom to have for dessert.
Tell Mary Happy Mother's Day for me!!

When you have your mother for lunch, do you use catsup or mustard?

LOL
Just giving you a hard time.

I am so glad you had some people come in to make your day.  Happy Mother's Day to you too.

Not much happening in my part of TX. I got my hair cut this morning. It's officially my unemployment hair cut as I had it done considerably shorter and I did my own color on Thursday night. Here's a link to a photo.

We were out late last night and my appointment was early, so when I got back, I took a little snooze and then we unloaded the downstairs guest room and got the ceiling painted. After brunch with my mom and stepdad tomorrow, we'll do the walls.

Other than that, it's a quiet day here. Doing laundry now as Michael's leaving for Atlanta early Monday.

Have a good night. Prayers for all who need them.
Blessings, Jennifer

Thank you.  Would have seen it sooner, but we lost internet earlier, as well as the computers and phones at one of our call centers.  Busy busy busy.

Personally, I am like most guys and not a fan of short hair.  However, I understand it will be easier to maintain while you are job searching, and can actually wait a longer time before needing to do something with it.  It is a cute look though.

Just got word the whole family will be together in church tomorrow.  Except Oleta, Eryn and Alex.  Eryn and Alex will be in the nursery, Oleta will be working the desk in the nursery.  But Penny and her family are coming to join us in church in the morning, then we are all going to Brad's house to eat lunch.  I will be going to sit in the recliner and nap when I can, as I am working until 6AM.  Will get home about 6:45.  Have to leave the house by 8:50 so we can drop the beans off at Brad's house (right around the corner from the church).

Can't wait to see everyone.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!
