update on my family

The good news is that my husband, Jim, is responding very well to the chemo that's being used for his kidney and lymph node tumors!  He has one more cycle and then they will remove the "bad" kidney.  He's feeling great.  His long chemo treatment, 6 hours, is tomorrow.  It usually kicks his you-know-what but thank God no more chemo cycles are scheduled.
The not so good news is about my parents.  My father is also battling kidney cancer that has spread to his spine.  The chemo and radiation have been too much for him.  He's decided that he's ready for his homecoming in heaven.  He's being moved to a comfort home today.  My mother has Alzheimer's and all of this is just too much for her.  We're looking for a nursing home for her.
I will be traveling to Harlingen where they are on Tuesday.  I won't be able to make th e RYD conference.  But that's not where I need to be.  I have a double room if someone needs it. Please offer prayers for my family.

Grace,
Janet

Janet......Sweetie you definately have MY prayers.    I have been praying for you all !!!!   So glad that Jim is doing well but I am saddened to hear the news that your father has given up.    My Mom did that also 2 1/2 yrs ago and decided no more meds for her.   She lasted about 2 days off meds.   I will definately keep you and your entire family in my thoughts and prayers.    Extra prayers being said for your dear Mom.    Please be safe when you go to Harlingen.    Keep in touch.   We love you guys and are here if you need me.

Hugs and blessings ~~~ Vivian

Thank you for your kind words, Vivian.  I feel like I'm sleep walking, not really here.  And I know I'm not alone.  God's with my family and it is His will not ours right now.  And I'm thankful for my OH family!

So sorry to hear about your parents.  It's got to be so hard to watch them go through this.  Great news on hubby.  I pray tomorrow won't be too hard on him.  Drive safely and enjoy the time you have left with your parents.

Thank you, Stephanie.  My time left with my parents is limited.  I know deep down that when my father goes, so will my mother.  It's all in God's hands!

Janet, glad to hear Jim is responding well to the cemo, keeping both of you in prayer.  I am sorry you are having to deal with ill parents on top of Jim's medical issues.  May God give you the strength and understanding during this trying time.  Lean on us as you need to sweetie.

Thank you.  We all have to deal with losing our parents.  I'm just not ready!  They were fine during the holidays.  A good lesson in telling everyone how much you love them...today.  Not tomorrow.

Janet,

OK.....I'm passing my "Bless Her Heart" crown on to you. lol Glad your hubby is responding to the treatment. My uncle went thru the same thing a few years ago and he did great esp after they removed the bad kidney.I'm so sorry to hear about your parents. There are several of us that are going thru this stage with our parents. Hugs and prayers for you and your family!

Your loved!

This is one crown I'd rather not wear!  But thank you so much for the sentiment.  God must think I'm Super Woman!  He has strange sense of humor sometimes!  Better days are ahead.  And my father will be free of cancer, free of pain and in his Father's arms soon.  Thank you, Lynnette.

JANET--you certainly have your plate full! I know God does not give us "more than we can handle" but He sure does TEST us sometimes!!!! There will be other conferences and opportunities for "peep" time . Your family needs you now. I know some "nurse stuff", so if I can be of ANY assistance, please do not hesitate to call on me.
