Surviving the weekend...you know it's almost always a challenge!

I'm sure no one will be tempted with sugary delights for mother's day. All our families know not to expect desserts, right?

HA!

Of course, I'm assigned to bring BBQ ribs and a cake for lunch tomorrow.  Hey...the ribs are meat.  Make sure you have some protein to eat.  I know we have ribs and brisket, so that's good.

Plan for today is the usual...lots of liquids and 2 protein drinks.  I'm downing one protein drink now.  I'll probably eat leftovers for lunch and need to decide on dinner.

Hang in there for the weekend and Mother's day.

What's your motivation AND your plan?

Yesterday was not good.  I just lost the momentum yesterday afternoon and let myself go way off plan.  Do any  of you find after a sugar drop that getting your mind back on good choices is a challenge?  Not just the day of but even the day after.  I had a sugar drop on Thursday afternoon (not sure what caused it) and yesterday my mind kept wanting carbs, grrr.

I think I forgot to post yesterday...not sure. LOL  Made some yummy turkey chili yesterday...should not have made the cornbread though. My eating has been great other than the darned cornbread.  Still not exercising.  Going to make it a point to do that today.

Hugs,

Jeri

Not feeling too motivated.  Friends dying, babies being born - wasn't a great week at all.

Sat 2-1/2 hours in traffic yesterday.  That along with hours of sitting at hospitals and funeral homes, but ankles are swollen and my scale is up 2-1/2 lbs.  I'm on the verge of drowning trying to drink it off LOL.

And the kicker?  In-laws today .... UGH

May Goals:
1. Workout 5x/week unless I start losing too much weight again. Then I'll have to adjust to keep the weight in check.
2. Wednesday, 4/22 I could barely eke out 100 crunches with 40 lbs. on my shoulders. 5/1, I did 220. By the end of the month, I'd like to be at 700. And hopefully, I'll have awesome little contours to show for it.
3. Do something that brings me joy each day.

I did 4 gym workouts this week, took the dogs to the park once and painted. I'm counting it as 5 workouts. Yesterday, I knocked out 320 crunches with the 40 lb. counterweight on my shoulders.

Last night was the first time since I lost my job that I got dressed up to go out. I was floored at how much my body has changed in 3 weeks of solid workouts. I had a great time out last night. Great food (grilled shrimp @ Guero's), smooth mojitoes, a sugar free sno-cone and laughing my abs even sorer than they were at Louis CK made for a happy day.

Today, we've been painting our downstairs guest room, so one room closer to being able to put the house on the market.  Happy, happy!

As you know I went to Hailey's restaurant for dinner last night.  Talk about incredible.  It was not weight loss friendly but it was so worth it.  I had Rock Island fried shrimp (appetizer portion) and warm coleslaw.  For dessert I had a mini brownie topped with homemade marshmallow creme and a side of peanut butter ice cream.  I only took about 3 bites but it was heavenly.  Luckily the scale didn't rebel.  I made great choices the rest of the day.

Today we were on the go all day.  I had beakfast at Sonic- egg/bacon/cheese crousaint.  Lunch was at Loralea's- 1/2 hotdog (no bun), small piece of birthday cake and 3 bites of ice cream.  Some low fat trash mix for a snack and now I really need some protein.  Off to the kitchen to get lunch  meat and cheese for dinner.
