Hello Everyone.....

I have not posted in awhile and when I did last it was about Dr. L's new baby back in December but now I have news of my own.

On May 21st I will be having bariatric surgery.  I am going to participate in the FDA study for the TOGA (The TOGA procedure is an incision-free treatment using a set of flexible staplers introduced into the mouth and esophagus to create a sleeve in the stomach (transoral formation of a gastric sleeve). The TOGA sleeve limits the amount of food that can be eaten and gives the patient a feeling of fullness after a small meal. )

But since I know many of you and you all know my mom I thought I would start posting as since I am stubborn and a red-head I will need support from each of you.

I go today for my pre-op appointment so will post more later......oh and the funness I am taking my kids on a cruise 3 weeks after surgery so I will be on the soft/puree stage while on the cruise.  Probably the only person to ever loose weight while on vacation!

Good Luck Miranda, I'm interested in seeing what the study results are.  Who is doing the TOGA study in Houston?

I know that UT Physicians (Dr. Erik Wilson and his partner) are doing it. They discussed it in thier seminar. Don't know if anyone else is. That is why I chose Dr. Wilson, if he is being watched that closely that he is doing this study, I figured he would do a good job on my RNY!

My surgeon is Dr. Brad Snyder who yes is the partner to Dr. Eric Wilson.  Dr. Snyder has done the bulk of the TOGA's so I am confortable with him doing the surgery.  He is very nice plus I know Connie (NP) will take good car of me.
