RYD Event Announced

Hello OH’ers.. After much discussion the site for the RYD conference has been chosen and it will be held in Galveston, TX.   Although we did ask for the input from TMB members the ultimate decision came down to a business choice that is out of our hands.  We cannot hold this event without our sponsor and the location ultimately comes down our sponsor’s decision. 

 

If you had requested time off of work please make an effort to attend and “Pay it Forward". We would love to make this as successful as the first RYD conference.

 

Dates are still May 15th thru May 17^th at The San Luis in Galveston.

Friday evening we will host a Meet N Greet Social which will be held poolside with appetizers and other munchies.

 

Cost for attendees for the conference is $70 per person.

 

Rooms will be $95.00 per night. Please use RYD as your code.  Hotel rooms are normally $189.00 per night so this is a great opportunity for a great room at a great discount.  If you share a room with three others this will be about $25.00 a night. Remember this is for a resort hotel so this is a fabulous rate. 

 

We have asked for rooms with 2 queen beds for the bulk of our rooms so that patients can share rooms if desired.

 

***ROOMS MUST BE BOOKED BY APRIL 15TH TO HAVE THIS DISCOUNTED RATE***

 

We will be providing the following meals; breakfast Saturday and Sunday and lunch on Saturday.

 

We will have access Saturday evening to the Conferee Lounge which is only available to conference groups and has pool tables, dart boards,  shuffle board and card tables with snacks and non-alcoholic drinks.

 

At an additional cost The San Luis offers a Kids Camp and also a Spa that anyone wishing to get pampered can make reservations.  Attendees can inquire at the front desk when they register about these activities. 

 

We would like to let everyone know that this is also a way for us to help promote Galveston after Hurricane Ike and a way for our very special community to support this wonderful island that is part of Texas.

OMG, this looks fabulous.  Even Clay said he wants to come.  You outdid yourself, looks like it will be well worth the drive.

My DH and I stayed there in late Dec 2007 for our anniversary and it was fabulous!  It was off-season then and the only time of the year we could afford to stay there LOL.  (and we still paid more than $89/night)

That is an outstanding rate for that time of year!

 

Ok, I'll let my stupidity show here lol . . .what is RYD?  And what kind of things will be covered in the conference? 

I will probably attend just to hang out and talk with all you wonderful people, but I just had no idea what an "RYD conference" was.

Also, the San Luis is a wonderful hotel.  I have been to several business events there over the years and it is beautiful and the people are very nice.

I'll be there! Miranda promises me that I don't have to teenager-sit for the conference, even though she's working it.

Awwwe Shucks !!!!   I was sure you said it would be in Dallas at the Crowne Plaza again.    I won't be able to come because of it being in Galveston.   My baby's choir banquet is friday night, saturday night is his senior prom and all night saturday night is his Project Celebration and I am working it.   I am bummed that I won't be able to attend this year.    It was the BEST last year.   Oh well....can't win them all.    Ya'll have a fantastic time and trust me.....I will be there in spirit !!!!   Love ya !!!!

Paul, I sure like that idea. I cannot go to RYD. Trying to save the money for the kids visit 2 weeks later. If it had been in Dallas I could drive over and no hotel. But that is alright I can still take that day off and have a great day with those that are still in town. Lets work with Ms Viv on this. She is a great planner!!
