I live in Houston and not so long ago I was accepted for Harris County Hospital District Health Services (Gold Card). Will they give me Medicaid? If so, I would love to find a Dr in Houston that will accept Medicaid for WLS. If anyone has been in my position or is and has an idea on how this works. I'd greatly appreciate it dearly! Thanks.

I am looking for one for my neice in the DFW area.  She is 17 and is on CHIPS, which I think is some sort of Medicaid for children.

My sister has requested a consult with Dr. Barker who was my surgeon, but I think he stopped taking Medicare & Medicaid.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.  We would be willing to travel, but only for a really good and well reviewed surgeon.

I have AETNA Texas Star Program (Medicaid) and I had to do alot of Foot Work but I got AETNA on board as this is the first surgery they have done on their MEDICAID in TX. Had to have an out of network request but got that too, transportation reimbursement, everything 100% covered, except Dietician is $150 at the time of visit, found a wonderful doctor to take the letter that he would be paid if he saw me and he took that leap of faith and said "Sure I'll see her, Great".

Dr. Bradley Waggoner, Cypress Medical Center 832-912-3717 in Cypress, TX.

I went to see my PCP for six months and they submitted all the progress notes and my Physc doc supported me and well here I am six months later, and got approved after the first letter.

I had a wonderful Case Manager Terry @ AETNA who helped me with everything and if you are on Texas Medicaid and want to have this done you should for sure call Dr. Waggoner and let him help you it's alot of work but well worth it!

WOW I'm living proof fixin to have surgery 4.25.12 and start my second life.

If you need anymore information pls feel free to contact me @ [email protected]

Love & Happiness,
Mona :)
