If your employer gives you paid time off/ vacation time that you are planning to use for the time off, they legally can't ask you why you will be off or what you will be doing so you dont have to tell them anything. If you are using sick time or unpaid time then I would go with the other suggestions and just get a Dr's note.

Falling faster than the stock market?  I wouldn't know whether to laugh or be very afraid.  Since I know nothing about stocks, I guess I'd laugh.  However if we were to compare that to way my 401K is dropping in value, I know I'd cry. Great that your doc has a sense of humor. Congrats on your new smallest state.

I would love to come - we have a DS support group on 12/11 could we do it that day so I can make 1 trip up to Cookeville to see everyone?  

Is there any interest in a holiday luncheon with perhaps a round of Dirty Santa?  I know it's been a while since I saw lots of people; it sure would be nice to see lots of you again.  Yeah, we have our hospital parties, but  we all didn't go to the same place for surgery.  Please respond here or PM me if you're interested and we'll see what we can get together.  Remember I-40 is a good road for Nashville peeps and others from around TN.
