Kathy Newton is back in hospital.

Hello all. I just spoke w/ Kathy & she is back in hospital. Morristown-Hamblen(sp) Her room # is 801. I could hardly understand her as it was thundering so bad here where I live. I know she was sick & throwing up. Her potassium is still in the ok range tho. At least we can be thankful for that. PLEASE give her a call & check on her. I hate to see her so sick when she fought so hard to have this surgery. Let her know how much we care. Sara.

Hi Sara, sorry I couldn't call you back, the phone battery was dead. It's on charge now. I am still in the hospital, if I am still here come Monday morning the oncologist, who is my oncologists partner, is going to see about doing some tests that should be been done on me regarding my leukemia. He's also see about doing another bone marrow biopsy, as I haven't had one since I found out about the leukemia. With my changing Oncologists, she said every 3 months, it's been almost 8 months and she's never done one on me. I think we found why outside of the chemo doing it, but my magnezium is supposed to keep my potassium from dropping, was way too low. My blood pressure was 177/100, and I was that critical in the potassium department. Now I am taking a Magnezium pill tonight with only 200 grams of chemo instead of 400 to see if that helps keep my potasium from dropping so fast. The dosage for a new diagnosed leukemia person is 400 mg. But with my having that surgery, it's possible that the 400 is too high for me and it was messy up all my eletrolites. So I took 200 grams tonight, drank the potassium (threw it up some) and took a magnezium. We'll see in the morning how it worked when they do my blood work. Thanks for calling.
