I'm home!
Hey y'all,
Just wanted to let ya know that I'm home and doing well. I posted my experience at the hospital in my profile if you're interested. I hope everyone is doing well! Thanks for all the great support and well wishes!
April
P.S. Can someone tell me when all this water from the IV will move out? I feel so swollen! I've been walking and peeing like crazy!
wow ...i just read your profile. I have to admit reading it got me all excited!!! LOL... I'm glad to hear you did so well and I do love how motivated you are.
I hear so many talk about not feeling like doing anything and you are out walking in your neighborhood the day you are discharged! I admire you and only hope I can do the same!!! You are a great inspiration April and I look forward to meeting you soon!!! (probably at the Y) I just have to get over my fear of embaressment(sp?). Going to join anyway and make myself ignore the stares and know that I have to do whatever it takes to keep myself on track!!!!
hugs,
Rose

awww shucks, I'm no inspiration. I just knew I had to get up to walk in order to heal faster. Also, be prepared... when they take the catheter out of you.. you will HAVE to get up to pee at least every other hour, so I figured since I'm up... might as well go take a walk. You'll do great! I know you must be getting excited
I know exactly how you feel about going to the Y. I still get embarrassed, but its something you just have to grin and bare it. Go in and do what you need to do and get out lol I'm going to try to go today, just to walk on the treadmill for 30 minutes. I wish I had a treadmill here at home lol
If you need anything, let me know

Hi and welcome home. It will take maybe a week to get all the extra fluids out, then you will start losing actual weight. Got weighed today down to 220, that's 63 lbs gone for good. I willl chat with you tomorrow, the potassium going into my port to get it back up is making me very sleepy. Glad you made it thru the surgery, missed you, Kathy
