Need Bra and wedding dress in Nashville

Hi. I need to find a strapless bra and have no idea where to look. Anyone know a good shop to find a strapless bra in a size 46 or 48 D or DD in the Nashville area? And does anyone have any recommendations on a good bridal shop? I need to find a wedding dress in a size 32 in stock or available immediatly. Thanks, -Maria

Hi Maria, can't help you on the bra section unless you check with Sears, I recently just found one to fit me but it's not strapless. As for a wedding dress, mine is a size 20, but in the Nashville area, I have no clue. You may be able to find a bridal shop, if not, go thru a seamstress and have one made for you. Maria, Sounds like congratulations are in order?? For the bra, I would check any Lane Bryant or Avenue store, you can find different locations on their websites. I know they should carry at least a 46D or DD. OR if you have time, you can find one online at www.lanebryant.com, www.avenue.com, www.lanebryatncatalog.com, www.roamans.com As for the wedding dress. I THINK the Bridal Warehouse in Goodletsville may have that size. David's Bridal only goes up to a 26. Bridal Warehouse is off of Conference Drive. I got married last August. I had such a hard time finding a dress in my size that I decided to just get married in a nice "sunday" type outfit, on a Tuesday morning w/only my husband's parents to witness, at a place called the Wedding Chapel in Springfield. I originally envisioned such a nice ceremony and reception..but I was just too frustrated so maybe once I reach my goal weight, I'll do something more elaborate. Anyways, Good Luck!

Hi April. Yes, I guess congratulations are in order. I have never had any luck with bras from Lane Bryant or Avenue stores. I looked in the catalog and they didn't have anything that would work. I did find a dress at Bridal Warehouse. I had been there already but just wanted to know if there were any other options available in the area. We are getting married on May 9th, which is our one year anniversary of meeting. We are going out to Vegas and getting married at Area 51. This wedding is just for us. I have joked to my friends about getting him drunk and dragging him into a wedding chapel but haven't said we are actually planning on it. We will be having a big church wedding and reception in January in Philadelphia. By then I will be a lot smaller and have no problem finding a dress. Planning that is driving me insane! Between the hair loss from surgery and my pulling it out, I'm gonna need a wig! But it's worth it. -Maria

Maria, I missed you at the April support group meeting. For your bra, check out Rebecka Vaughan Lingerie in Green Hills Court (269-4413). We went there to get my daughter's strapless bra for her wedding. They carry a good line of large size lingerie. They were a bit pricey but the quality is excellent. We had checked several other places and just couldn't find what she needed. As for the gown, I'd have to agree on Bridal Warehouse. Don't go only by the size marked on the gown either. The sizes can run very different from regular clothes. And, they may be able to order what you like in your size. I know you'll be a beautiful bride! Susan

Hi Susan. We were lazy that morning and didn't get up until 11am. I checked out Rebecka Vaughan and got my bra. Good thing I went there, as I had no idea what size I needed. They were a little on the pricier side but not by much. I got a Goddess longline strapless for $48 + tax, close to what I would have paid elsewhere so I am not complaing about that. I bought the gown from Bridal warehouse. Ordering wasn't an option as the wedding is on May 9th in Vegas. So I needed it now. Nothing like waiting to the last moment. -Maria aka Ms. Procrastination

I'm glad you found what you needed at Rebecka Vaughan's. Don't they have some pretty stuff? Just think, you'll be able to shop for THE dress for the January ceremony instead of having to settle for what fits. You're gonna knock peoples socks off then. It will be nea****ching their reactions when they see the new you. Have fun in Vegas. I guess this means we won't be seeing you at the May meeting either.
