I'm home from the hospital..... again

Hi everyone. First let me thank Sara for her calls, and keeping me from going stark sterile crazy. I was so bored. Every meal but breakfast was green beans, juice, protein powder, and dried boneless, skinless, chicken breast or turkey. Trust me when I say, with no salt, pepper, or butter, I had a very hard time swallowing the food. The only good thing was the green beans. I was hooked to a potassium/saline bag at all times, a piggy back bag of just potassium, nausea shots, pain pills, my regular pills, plus potassium drinks. Nothing was helping. Yesterday they came in and attached a blue band on my left wrist, and when I questioned what was going on, I was informed that my blood hemoglobin levels were real low. I received 2 pints of blood. Instead of giving me the energy of fresh blood, it made me weaker. I guess with the leukemia and chemo, that this will be a part of my life that I will always have to deal with. Frankly, I am so tired of it all. I just want to be healthier, not worse. They only ran a bunch of blood tests on me, but couldn't answer me as to where the 2 pints of blood disappeared. I sure appreciate your prayers and support. I'm always here for you even if it's by phone. Feel free to call me anytime. I ask that you keep me in your prayers. The potassium that my pcp and surgeon want me on is $82 a month. Medicare D and the VA Medical Center in Nashville do not carry this and Medicare D won't pay for it. I don't have that kind of money on a monthly basis, so it looks like I will be in and out of the hospital. Take care and I am so proud of all the approvals I have read today. I am sorry for not posting to each of you personally, but my finger tips are bruised from all the sugar blood tests they did. I am off to make chicken meatloaf. Tastes like hamburgery, a little more expensive, and can be found at Krogers, but it's good. Love to all, Kathy

Use ground up chicken instead of hamburger. The only place I know where you can find it is at Krogers. The store has to have to grinders in order to ground up chicken. Less fat and tastes great. I plan on making another trip to Maryville, TN on the 16th for my 3 month weigh-in and will stop off at Krogers to get some more. It's expensive 2.99 a lb at Krogers, but when you look at how much fat comes out of hamburger meat, I would rather use ground chicken. Try it. Love ya, and thank you Kathy

Kim, thank you, but it's not me, it's having God beside me. He gives me the strength each day to get thru. By being here or in the hospital, my strength comes from Him. I am here for everyone else. Takes my mind off my problems. I want everyone who is obese to find fulfillment in a healthier life, without complications. I know mine comes with having to be on a water pill to keep the fluids off my heart and keep my kidneys functioning. That is part of why my potassium drops so fast. I know God will heal me. I wish you the best in your journey to a better life. May God travel with you on this journey. Love Kathy

Kathy I agree that you must have God on your side, but you always remember that He is always with you & guiding you....many people do not keep that in mind & for that, I am happy that you are you & know that you will be alright. Hugs, Kim
