Ahhhh 2 more weeks!!!
Will it EVER get here????
geesh! I thought waiting for approval was bad... I think waiting for the actual surgery is worse.
I had all my pre-op testing and nutritional counseling this morning. 4 hours for 3 vials of blood and a simple EKG...shee****hought I'd ******vous wreck throughout the entire morning, but I was surprisingly calm. I was a little nervous about handing over the credit card to pay for my hospital stay --- $1,006.69 and $250 for the surgeon. That is the quickest I've spent that amount of money lol It could be worse I suppose but overall you can't put a price on your health.
I purchased some Isopure protein supplement that my surgeon recommends during the pre liquid diet and post liquid diet. This stuff is HORRIBLE.
Well enough rambling...
How is everyone doing?
April
Hey April,
I'm so excited for you!!! I know it must be killing you, since your so close to being there. Just think about how you'll be feeling and looking this time next year!!! As for me I am in the waiting game... that's a real Ahhhh!!!!! The insurance person at Vanderbilt is still working on my paperwork, and once I know that it's been sent off, I'll have the worst wait, the approvel wait!! I try and think about other things, but it doesnt really help. Best of luck to you, you'll do great!!!

My insurance plan covers 90% of expenses until I meet my out of pocket maximum expenses of $1300 then the insurance company will pay 100%... so I had to pay the out of pocket maximum in order to have 100% covered. Does that make sense? This insurance stuff is confusing but I'm getting the hang of it.

Hi April. These 2 weeks will go faster than you realize. Have you already cleared being off from work? How long are you taking off? So, what kind of pre-op diet and regiment do you have? Just curious. Hang in there. Not to much longer. I am going to try and stop by and say "hi" when you are in the hospital. I will call you.

I'm taking two weeks off. Hopefully I won't need to take off anymore than that though I do have 3 weeks of time off I can use. Work was great about me taking off. They're really concerned about my health and are excited I'm having surgery. We're having a huge Critter's Day event at the park the weekend before my surgery so hopefully that will keep my mind off things.
I've been trying to stick with a low-carb diet for the past couple of weeks with the exception of the weekends but I got a really horrible migraine headache and stopped. I should have known better b/c everytime I do low carb, I usually end up with migraines. I'll probably experience this again after surgery. But my surgeon only requires 2 days of clear liquids before surgery and nothing after midnight the day of surgery. He doesn't even require a bowel prep. I was really glad to hear that.
I have a new cell #. I don't remember if I gave it to you or not. Let me know and I'll email it to you. Is the Nashville meeting still on for Saturday? I got your email about maybe changing the date if people had other plans. Let me know if that happens. How is the doc supervised diet going?
