another update...

Things are still moving. Thanks for listening to me as I give small updates. It keeps me optimistic! I called Aetna today to make sure they had recieved my paperwork from Vandy. They recieved it on Friday and it is currently under review in pre-certification. She told me to call back at the end of the week to check the status. I am so nervous that they are going to turn me down. I would just be devastated. I am trying to stay positive, but with my surgery in the hands of the insurance company I am just getting paranoid. Stay positive Rachael. Everything will work out. When I was in your shoes, I just wanted a yes or no answer. At that point, I didn't care. I was ready to fight if I was denied. But if you have everything they need, all your i's dotted and t's crossed, you'll be approved. Stay optimistic April

We're in the exact same boat My info was faxed this morning to BCBS. Now we wait. It is totally out of our hands at this point. We can be prepared if the "no" comes. Them saying no isn't the end of our journey. It only forces us to prove this is what we really want. We can do it Rachael!! We'll celebrate together! Marianne

Well I'm still waiting on Beth at Vanderbilt to finish up my paperwork, and to send it to Cigna. She seemed to get your stuff done pretty quickly, so I am hopeful that she will send it off by the end of this week. I think I will call friday morning and check up on it. I am so, so, so scared that they might say no to me. I think I was more upbeat about it in the begining and during my 6 month diet... but now that the real ball has started to roll, I am terrified of them turning me down. I have been on this site since Sep. and I was lucky enough to hear about quite a few of us to get approved, and that gives me a lot of hope. Every time I see a post with the heading, approved!!!, I smile big! I know how you feel Rachael and Marianne, and everyone else who is or has been in our shoes... and Marianne is right, if worst comes to worst, we fight!!! But until then, be hopeful, life has a great way of working itself out. Luv, Jacqueline

Jacqueline, I was wondering about your case. I wished I could have asked Beth about your stuff while I talked to her on the phone. Don't be afraid to call her. Everytime I did, I left a message and she called me back within the hour. She was able to fax my paperwork because of the status of the records themself, but she said that she isn't always able to do that and then it takes a bit longer. I hope it gets moving for you again. Rachael, don't get down now. Stay positive, stay upbeat, stay busy. This is normal. If you get denied, find out what they want, and do it. You will get approved. Just it's hard to be upbeat and stay focused when. Read the daily quotes, and think positive. It will happen. I'm proof that miracles do happen. Don't be around anyone who is stressing you out, or is negative thinking. Stay around those who are cheerful and that will help you to relax and stay positive that all will happen when the time is ready. Much love and prayers, kathy
