My first post...

Hi! I'm Nancy! This is my first post. I am 8 days from surgery (April 3, 2006). I have so many emotions going on inside of me. When I received the news of my surgery date, the reality of it really hit me. I was getting scared and nervous. (ok so I am still a little nervous) I have a great support system and really am ready to move on to the next piece of this journey. (The HARD part) I'm more comfortable with the anticipation now. Though I know that the nerves will return the closer to surgery! I read something recently where a patient described their surgery date as their "re-birth". Until I read that I had not realized that was exactly what it is. Learning everything over again....just a little quicker than when you were a baby. I will have to get some pics uploaded soon. I have found that the photos on the site have really inspired me. That's all I have for now....

Kathy, I will be having surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. My surgeon is Dr. William Richards. I am very lucky that he has approved me for lap RNY. Three more days....on my gosh! Thanks for the support and kind words! Nancy
