PLZ CALM ME DOWN!!!!

I just called the ins. company, you know for my 5 oclock routine, any recommendation yet?? lol.... anyway, it has been picked up, YEAH, took less than a week, BUT, they say they need more info, physical and notes from surgeon, and early 2003 weight documentation. I sent them info where i was in the hospital in june 2003 and it states on there EVERYWHERE they were unable to perform tests on me due to my severe morbid obesity!!!! But NOOOOO they want something from MARCH!!! ok like i gained 300lbs in 3 months!!! give me a break!!!! so anyway, on a happier note....i am hoping, thinking and wishing that once i provide this info that i will get my approval.....ANY COMMENTS ON THAT???? Has anyone ever been turned down once they asked for more info like that, or do my chances look pretty good????? just looking for something to rationalize my excitement....i don't want to be excited and then them tell me noooooo~~~~SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!!!! ANY ADVICE, COMMENTS, OR SLAP IN THE FACE!!!! LOL....ANYTHING!!!!!! THANKS FOR LISTENING... ROSE

Take a deep breathe! lol wow they are pretty specific! They want a weight for the month of March?? I'm sorry Rose. I'm sure you'll be approved once you get the information they need. I was in a similar situation. My insurance company required 5 consecutive years proof of obesity. I had every year except 2004. I was soo worried and freaking out, completely stressed about it for a week and a half. I was approved though. How long will it take you to get the necessary information?? Good luck. April

Well...assuming my surgeons office has that info and can fax it and i can either find a picture w/that date stamped on it or other medical records from march or earlier 2003 i can have it by monday.... I just don't remember my surgeons office doing a physical.... but then again i haven't seen my surgeon since 2004. OMG i can't believe it's been that long ago!!!!! man watch they will need me to come back in I bet!!!!! I did see the surgeon and he did ask for my medical history (that is what the ins. comp said it is??) anyway....time will tell...this is the bad part about your surgeon being 5 hours away!!!!!

Wow, 5 hours away?? what a hassel lol If you need a physcial, I'm sure they'll accept something from a local primary care physician. Time sure does fly. I noticed that myself when I was looking over my past medical records lol Half of them I couldn't even remember going. There are plenty of bariatric surgeons in Nashville, have you thought about having it done closer to home?

I have thought about changing to a local surgeon, but i'm too close to change it now anyway.... And i feel sooo safe in his hands.... i'm just gonna play the little ins game til the end

Hey Rose, why not try Dr. Colquitt in Maryville, just south of Knoxville? He's my surgeon and it's alot closer. But because you are over the 50 mile radius, you will need to stay in a motel in Maryville until he takes the drain tube out which is usually 5 days later. He and Blount Memorial are at the top of the Center of Excellence with Medicare. He and his partner Dr. Ray have never lost a patient, the nurses on the surgical floor are well trained and so wonderful in helping you. I would highly recommend them. May God travel with you on your new journey. Don't forget to breath. You'll be alright. Won't want you to hyperventalate from over worked nerves. thanks so much kathy. I have thought about changing to a local surgeon, but I have been so picky about my surgeon..he is actually my 3rd one. He has been the highest recommended surgeon...even the ins comp refers their employees to him. lol.... i'm too close to change it now anyway.... sometimes i wonder though!!!! I called the ins. comp back today to ask a few more questions and found out the pictures I overnighted to them on the 15th still are not showing as being received. I told them because it went to a po box i couldn't get delivery confirmation but I was able to track it and I know that it arrived on the 16th. they said that as soon as anything is received it has to go to imaging b4 going anywhere else and that they may still be in imaging. I asked her how long it can take in imaging and she said up to 30 days...I told her that is all the time i'm allowed to submit the new requested info in before I have to start all over and she said well "if we have to we can do an extension" OHHHHHHHHHHHH NOOOOOOOOOOOO..... LOL.... well I told her that it was my life on the line while they waited on imaging and I didn't find that very reassuring...she told me to call back everyday and check...i told her don't worry i will!!!! but i was not ill or mean..... even though i felt like screaming!!!! i've calmed down but the problem now is...i'm wondering if in some way God is trying to keep me from having this surgery for some reason..... my husband said he didn't think so and that God is just probably testing me to make sure i'm ready.... someone please tell me i'm not the only one who has freaked out like this during the ins. waiting game.........
