O.T.Chattanooga & Nashville
Any suggestions on where to stay (Chattanooga) and what is worth seeing in Chattanooga and Nashville? We are vacationing the first week in May and know nothing about either place. We have lodging in Nashville and tickets to the Grand Old Opry. I thought I could ask locals who might also know good places to eat for us WLSers. I am two years out,so I can manage most places.
Thank you SO much!

Chattanooga - My husband and I stayed at the Sheraton in the downtown area. It is right down the road from the Tennessee Aquarium. If you're into that sort of thing - you can do a google search for more information. The restaurant in the Sheraton is FABULOUS! We had the most delicious melt in your mouth steaks! There is a lot of advertisement for Look Out Mountain in that area. We didn't go though. We were in Chattanooga for an overnight stay at the end of our honeymoon and really ready to get home.
Nashville - If you like to shop, right next door to the Grand Ole Opry is one of the largest shopping malls in the area. It is called Opry Mills - lots of outlet stores! There are also several places to eat there - The Aquarium, Rainforest Cafe, and other places. There are a lot of restaurants in the downtown area as well - Hard Rock, Spaghetti factory, etc.
I can suggest these websites:

Hope that helps!
That gives me plenty of time to mail stuff. My daughter works at the Holiday Inn Choo-Choo downtown. I'm sure I can get you some stuff, just email me. The aquarium is nice, they added a butterfly garden and stuff to it this past year. May is a great time for hiking. Rock City gardens is wonderful it overlooks the entire TN valley. There are all kinds of places to eat downtown near the waterfront. The waterfront area has been redone and expanded you can walk for miles and see gorgeous scenery. If you walk over the bridge from the aquarium there's a park with fountains and a carosel. Fall Creek Falls is about an hour and a half from here. Its a state park with three gorgeous water falls and plenty to do. There's a ghost tour or something my daugther has been talking about. A mystery theater. A wonderful theater center, the plays are wonderful that I've seen. Do a search for Chattanooga attractions and see what you find.

I grew up in Memphis and just outside of Chattanooga. My parents spent their honeymoon at the "Choo-Choo" (I'm fairly sure though the part about whether it was a Holiday Inn was never mentioned
They went back for their 25th anniversary.
There is a tram on Lookout Mountain that backs up the length of the mountain over an old Civil War battlefield (woods)...it's worth the trip up the mountain to the observation tower just for the view alone.
I second what was said about Rock City and the Aquarium.
You'll see all kinds of signs about Ruby Falls....but it's a rather disappointing visit....kind of cheesy. You're money's better spent at Rock City.
If you're a shopper, you might want to find Hamilton Place Mall.
I'm not a post-op yet, but there are Cracker Barrel restaurants all over the place (TN is their home base) - and they have really good vegetable plates and low-sugar/fat options.
Have fun on your trip!
