lost support group

I am really down today. I tried to find the support group last night at Vandy and not only was the weather horrible I could not locate the group. Now I have to wait another month. I don't drive in Nashville so my husband had to take me and we were so discouraged. If anyone lives close to gallatin and can help me out I would be so appreciative. I just don't know who to call or what to do. I am very down about this today. And I know what follows, depression. HELP..... wanda

Hi Wanda. I hate to hear what you are going through. Vandy has support group meetings weekly. A couple of time a week I believe. Check out this site - http://www.mc.vanderbilt.edu/root/vumc.php?site=bariatric&doc=4523. I do not know of any groups in the Gallatin area. I did google to see if I could find anything for you and I found this listing recently in the local sumner/robertson county paper: "Anyone interested in attending a local support group for weight loss surgery, whether it be gastric bypass or lap band, please call (615)384-9742 or email [email protected] for more information." Maybe that can help you. You may want to try and call the local hospital in gallatin or even hendersonville and see if they know of any type of support group meetings. Good luck. Wanda, There is a support group that meets at Hendersonville Hospital once a month. Check out this link for meeting dates, places, and times http://www.cmcwls.com/events.php The support group meetings are not just for patients of Centennial Hospital. If the folks that meet at H'ville Hosp. are as great as the people that meet at Centennial you will love them! I've never been to those meetings because I attend the meetings at Centennial. I am a patient of Dr. Olsen's at Centennial. Today is my 3 month anniversary!! Hope this info helps! Lura Battle
