Hospital again...
Hi I need prayers, my potassium has bottomed out again and I will be in the Morristown-Hamblen Hospital in Morristown. I don't know for how long, if they can't get it up, then since I have a port in, home nursing will come out several times a day to hook me up to an iv pole and run potassium and saline that way. I'm tired, I'm tired of not feeling good, being sick, and no energy. I wish they could fine what is causing it to bottom out. As for PT, I'm pushing myself to a limit with the weights, start out slow and increase. Today I was doing 60 lbs with my legs. Thanks everyone, with my love, Kathy
Have any spare potassium you want to get rid of? Just kidding, it's the chemo that is causing the problem. So it looks like either stay in a hospital or have home nursing come out several times a day to hook my port up to an IV for potassium drip. Everyone here has a positive influence on another person, I'm just the one who's been on this board active the longest. Thank you, Love Kathy
Kathy {{hugs}} there has to be something robbing your potassuim. Might it have anything to do with the chemo? Can you tolerate bananas? They are a great source of highly absorbable potassium.
I know they will find out what it is soon. I'll add you to my prayer list.
Toni
P.S. when you feel better will dish about the new man in my life...
I wish I could help you dear. I'm praying they figure out what's causing this. Hope you get to feeling better. Hospitals are not fun places. I'm so glad I had just went to the used bookstore before my daughter went in. The van was full of books. Here's hoping you're feeling better soon.

Dear Kathy,
I hope you are feeling better. I know postassium levels are very serous when you just had surgery and have high blood pressure and are a diabetic too..
Maybe you can check with your doctor and see what you can do to help improve your potassium on your own.
I hope you are feeling better and do not have to stay in the hospital for too long.
Congratulations on lifting weights and that much is a real haul for you.
You deserve to feel better.
I hope you feel better and keep on losing.
Your friend,
Tina
