Hey Everyone!!! I just wanted to post that today was the last visit on my medically supervised diet. I lost only two pds this month, and so all in all I just maintained my weight... I gained and then I lost and now i'm back at where I started. I feel kind of upset about this, because I really did want to loose some weight, but hey thats why I need wls, because it is so difficult for me. I had my summery visit with Dr. Hadi, and he said everything looks in order to go ahead and push for surgery except that we'll need to check my blood to see if my iron levels are up. If they are he will send over the clearance to the surgery center!!! I have an appt with Christian Ketal on the 20th, and now i'm kind of unclear about where things will go from that point on. Will he then just look over the info from Dr. Hadi and then go ahead and send the packet to my insurance, and then after aprovel will I then meet with a surgern??? Any advice on what happens from this point on would be great!!! Thank you guys, I'm soooo excited I just want to hurry up and get an answer on this. Jacqueline

thats great Jacqueline! I hope everything goes smoothly for you! With Centennial's program, I don't even get to meet with a surgeon or undergo tests until after I've been approved. I'm still waiting on an answer myself... maybe I'll call my insurance company today. Good luck with everything! April

I can't tell you regarding Vanderbilt, but Missy Lea went thru Dr. Hadi, once he approved her for surgery, she was sent to her surgeon, she saw Karen for her pysch eval and had her tests then it was off to the insurance company. It's rather a fast procedure once everything is done and out of the way. You'll make it. You have poor tired blood, I do too, plus critically low potassium. I was given a pint of blood three days after surgery and boy did I feel good afterwards. Energy wise. I get two B12 shots now a month and that seems to help some, but that doesn't give me the boost I need with my leukemia. I really need more and I need to also have my iron checked as I don't have a lot of energy from the chemo. You are younger and will be able to handle this so much easier. I wish you all the love and prayers, Kathy
