I hope the spinal tap goes okay. They can be scary but should not be too painful if done correctly. Do you know what they are checking for?
He has some pressure and some water on the brain. Theres a pediatric neurologist down there who sent him for a MRI and she, Dr Olson, says she doesn't think its too serious. She thinks whatever it is can be treated with meds. I assume the spinal tap is to determine how much pressure and maybe relieve some? She is also doing blood work...
Thanks for the directions

I am wondering because I have a condition called Intracranial Hypertension. They say it is linked to weight (I remember you saying your son is overweight) and is USUALLY seen in females of childbearing age. I do know of males who have been diagnosed with it though.
If this is what they suspect/find, I can tell you that mine has been treated quite successfully with medication for over three years. I have my life back thanks to the medication. The headaches I was having on a daily basis ranged from migraine level to totally incapacitating. (migraine being the mildest of the headaches)
I'll be watching for updates on your son's test results. Please let me know. In the mean time, I will definitely be praying that they get an answer to his problems and that it will be something that can be treated with medication.
Have a safe trip!
Susan
Thank u Susan and I am glad u have had success with medication. I hope it pray that whatever it is they can treat him with meds. Dr Olson seems to think that will be the case. I will post as soon as we know but it will probably be next Friday evening before we get any results from the spinal tap.
Thanks
Angela
