Phyllis, I'm taking Effexor, too. I'm not taking the XR version. My doctor and I talked today, and he thinks I'm just trying to do to much to soon. I just told Michelle, that I don't have patience, and this is so frustrating to me. I want this off immediately, and with it not happening; I'm trying to force to much on myself. Today was a much better day. I only got sick this morning. I didn't exercise, but instead went and got my hair cut, colored & highlighted. Man, did that do wonders. Thanks for the advice. Beth

Hi Phyllis. That is not 100% true about not taking the Effexor XR after surgery. There was a message on the main board about this several weeks ago. There were several people taking effexor XR prior and after surgery and had no problems. I also thought it was not allowed but I guess it is dependant upon what your DR says. If it is working for you, then you should hopefully not have to get off after surgery. Ask you Dr. I just wanted you to know that there is a possbility you can stay on it with no problems. Misty

I just got off the phone with my primary Dr....We upped my dosage of effexor. I am taking the capsules but I have to open it up and just wash down the little beads! I hope this works..My anger level is way up there..and my depression is getting worse...Dont know if its from the surgery or other things..I am 20 days post op..

Michelle, I take 37.5mg daily. I have the capsules, too. I went on a 2.8 mile walk today, and that made me feel SO much better. If you can do some walking outside, that would be great. I know the weather is supposed to be rainy here this weekend. Hopefully walking on my treadmill will help. Good luck with your effexor. Take care of yourself. Let me know if I can do anything to help. Thanks, Beth

Thanks guys for the information about effexor xr. I hope I don't have to change medicine too much, I would probably get it all mixed up!! I can't hardly wait to become a loser. thanks Phyllis
