lurker is coming out!

I have been "lurking" here for quite some time.I just could not get myself to post until I actually had surgery date.(1-30-2006) at Vanderbilt and my surgeon is Dr. John Kelly Wright. I need your prayers and support! Every poster here has been inspiration for me, and I have learned alot from each one!

Hi, My daughters best friend had Dr. Wright last year..she has lost over 100 lbs and is looking into plastic surgery...hope it goes that well for you. Also be sure to go to support meetings and you will stay insired. Billie

Dr. Wright is my doctor also! I had my surgery 1-6-06. Dr. Wright is rated 3rd in the nation on the RNY. He is hard to get to smile, but he knows his stuff.

Hi Phyllis! That is wonderful that you now have a surgery date. Congrats. I am going through Vanderbilt as well "when" I have surgery. Keep us updated on your progress. You will definatley find a lot of support here. Misty

Phyllis; Welcome to the best chatroom in TN! I had my surgery at Vanderbilt on 12/30/05. My surgeon was Willie Melvin. The care I received at Vandy was the best I've ever had. The nurses, both pre-op & post-op were incredible! May I make a suggestion...take ear plugs. The bariatric wing is close to the helipad. I was only in for 46 hours, so I didn't have to listen to it very long. , This is the best place to ask questions. This site has been so helpful for me, too. I started down the road to becoming a looser in July 2005. This site got me through a lot of hurdles, and was there for me when I needed a cry. I wish you the very best in your weight loss journey.
