I am at the end of my rope....does anyone know of a doctor that may take on any hardship cases for the bypass surgery. I am 37 years old and have gottrn to the point that I can't stay on my feet more than a couple of hours due to severe joint pain. I know this is because of my weight. I am unemployed at the moment and waiting on a diability decision. I don't have the means to pay for the surgery, but I know I have to do something soon. I have been trying to diet the last several months with no success. My health is getting worse due to my weight. I want so bad to get a chance to get my life turned around. I would appreciate any suggestions.

Dear Friend, Since you are unemployed you may be intitled to the BlueCross/Blues Shield Medcaid of Tennessee a state insurance. If I am correct. It will also help with the insurance company that you are on the disable role too. If you can get Blue Cross/ Blue Shield Medcaid a state insurance then you will have to go to their doctors that are appointed to you. In which means you might get one that says he does not believe in the surgery. You can always request a new doctor if that is the case then you might get one who believe that you can be a good patient for the surgery. The doctors in Johnson City will take your insurance. Their names are Dr.Waston and Dr.Hodge. I will tell you more at a later date. I am sorry but I must go now. Good luck in getting your disably and State Insurance. Your friend, Tina

When you are granted disability you will be put on Medicade, and a lot of Drs. will accept this. I think there is a 6 mos. documented diet try attached to this now, so maybe you should start that now. Make sure your Dr. writes everything down so that Medicade will accept it. Good luck, Billie

hi anthony i hope i can help.. if you are not able to work and have applied for disability you can try applying for TennCare.. call your county office for help there are numbers in local phone book i have read many postings where Tenn Care has paid for this WLS if you wait for disability there is a 2 yearwait before you qualify for medicare but maybe you can go straight for mediciad which is even better cause if you are on mediciad they will apy for everything never give up hope there is a way good luck big bertha
