Hi Chris! Sorry, I'm not in the West TN area...more northern middle TN. But (hopefully) you'll find out a lot of information needed at your seminar. They'll probably go through the different types of surgical procedures, diet, and a little about what to expect after surgery. Also, they'll probably have a packet of information to give you as well as the necessary paperwork you will need to submitt to the hospital. All hospital procedures are different. Mine is making me follow a step by step list of what to do before I even meet with a surgeon. I have to have insurance approval before I meet with him even. I've found that its pretty much whatever choice you make regarding surgeon/hospital. If you have any more questions feel free to ask! Good luck.

There are several people that you can get to know that have used Dr Madan in Memphis. There's a Jackson support group that meets every month. To contact some of these people go to the Yahoo website and look under groups. If you don't have yahoo id you'll have to get one. The group is "Gastrice Bypass Friends". There is not a whole lot of activity lately as far as group action (posting messages) goes, but you can still contact some folks via the site and get info.
