I had lapband surgery on Tuesday. I am worried about the amount of liquids I am taking in. At breakfast, I had 4 oz of high protein shake. Waited 30 minutes and started my water. At 12:00, 6 oz of chicken broth, waited 30 minutes and started my water. I'm afraid I'll drink too much liquid and stretch my pouch. How much liquid should one consume at a meal. I am currently on full liquids only.

Connie, you need to take in 64 ozs of water daily. It can be water, crystal lite, but that's what you need to get in a day. Best of luck, and cons on making your choice. Kathy

Connie, You don't have to worry about stretching your pouch The fluids go straight through. I had lapband on the 13th. You will do great! Let me know if I can help answer any questions. God Bless, Tammy

Hi Connie, you're doing fine. Dr.Kappa did my surgery over a year ago,RNY. I had the same question. I couldn't understand how I was drinking 8 oz. of protein drink when my pouch was only a few ounces. He said liquids go right on through. You need all the liquids, including lots of water. Where do you live? I live in the Mid-way area. I go to Boone Trail Baptist Church and graduated from Daniel Boone in 1975. I worked at Eastman for 16 yrs. and quit ten years ago to be home with my daughter. She's about to graduate form ETSU. Time flies by. I have drove a school bus for Kingsport City for three years now and worked at Sloopy's in between bus runs. But I just quit Sloopy's after being there 6 yrs. The temptation of french fries got the best of me. Well I'll shut up now. Talk to you next year. Good luck on your journey. Belinda Alley
