Hello. I'm new here, but I wanted to post anyways. I'm having a hard time these days. I'm 21, I have two beautiful boys, one's 3 and the other one is a year and a half, a loving husband, but he still acts like a child, and I'm 220 lbs. I'm fat and I hate it. We have one car, since my husbands truck broke down and he takes mine to his work. I can't exactly leave to go to a good gym. I've had a form of depression since my first child was born. With my first pregnancy, it was the last half of my senior year of high school and no one knew about it except my boyfriend, or now husband, and we decided it best to get married right out of high school. Lucky for us, no one found out til we were married. Since I had to hide my pregnancy, I was always down and my parents basically thought I was just getting fat from being depressed. They just didn't know why I was depressed!! So, getting married right out of high school doesn't mean I'll have tons of money saved up for this, so we were broke most of the time. We are just now getting back on our feet, and now with two boys total. Babysitting for my two boys would basically take my whole pay check if I worked, so Jason decided that this wasn't best for me. He thinks that being home all day is best for the boys and I. But, this is all about to change. I'm ready to do something about this. This past May, I signed up with For Your Pleasure Parties and I haven't turned back since. I love what I do and wouldn't change it for anything. I have tried others, such as Mary Kay, Avon, and etc, but nothing of this nature!! I have been getting the clue that I need to get out of the house or it's going to kill me!! But, the parties are fun, but not enough to get me out of the house for atleast 8 hrs to call it a day. I usually have a party every weekend, but it gets me out of the house for about 4-5 hrs. So, at the beginning of Feb, the hospital will be starting of it's Phlebotomy classes again. This is perfect for me. The instructor sent out over 200 applications, but only 6 are accepted!!!! But, my mom's boyfriend has gotten every single girl that has asked him to help them, get in the class. So, he's going to make it possible. But, I know that just getting out of the house isn't going to work. I need a great excersice program to help me start losing weight, which will be part of the new me. A new job, a new body, a new life for my family and I. What would be the best excersice program for a young girl who needs to loose atleast 80-90 lbs? If you have any crash diets to get me started, that would be great too!! I'm excited just thinking about it. If you want to email me personally, it's [email protected]. Thanks so much.... Mekia

Mekia, how tall are you? You didn't say. Crash diets don't work, you'll end up doing some damages to your body and gain the weight back on. The sensible diet is at 1200-1800 cal. diet. Drink plenty of water, that's 64 ounces, walk and you can take the boys with you, eat high protein, low carb and sugars. No junk food. White meat or real good lean meat, 3 meals a day with a morning snack of fruit, and in the afternoon. Nothing after dinner as it will just lay there making fat. Potatoes, noodles, are starch, carbs, which makes sugar in the body, so watch that when planning your meals. Nutra System can help, they can teach you how to eat healthy and to maintain your weighloss. Best of luck. Kathy

Thank you Kathy. Thank you for the advice. I'm 5'4". I really want to loose this weight. I had the idea of applying to be on The Biggest Loser Show, since they will be in Nashville January 22nd, but if I do that, then I won't be able to make it to my classes. My classes start Feb.6th and they last 10 weeks. I'm not sure if they would start right away or not. I'll probably still go to the open casting call to see, but maybe it'll work out. It's a really good show and it makes you want to loose the weight. I wouldn't want to come back home looking like I do now, never changing my weight. People would know what I had looked like before, and I would definately hate for them to think I was still the same way after all that!!! LOL But anyways, thank you so much. Not long ago, I decided I wanted to do the Gastrobypass surgery, but I had talked to another lady who had it done and she said that she doesn't regret it, but with me being so young, there's better alternatives to surgery. I do want to thank you once again. I really appreciate any advice you can give me. Thanks once again... Mekia

Hi Mekia, I did your body mass index and yours is 37.5 obese. Obese has a harder time of losing the weight then some one who isn't obese. You are more then a 100 pounds over weight for you age, heighth, and body frame. Regardless of the fact you are only 21. When I was 21 at 5'4" I was 102-106. I remember that because I turned 21 in bootcamp, and I was 106 when I got married just before I married in 1975. I'm now 268 and I am considered morbid obese. Being overweight (obese) comes major health problems if not corrected. Sleep apnea, arthritis, diabeties, high blood presure, and more. I would if it were me consider having the surgery now vs. later. Think about it. Always, Kathy
