Does anyone leave any calories left over.
Greetings Friends,
I was told to eat a 1500 calorie diet a day. I find I leave like from 10 to 400 calories untouch through out the day and the next day. Does anyone have that problem. I feel like I am eating more now than I ever really did. My aunt told me I should use all my calories and not leave any. Is it bad for me not to comsume the 1500 calories.
What do you all think? Thanks for taking the time to listen.
Tina

Tina,
I think its great that you can stay satisfied with 1500 calories. I'm on a 1200 calorie diet under dr. supervision and its been soo hard for me. I've felt like I've been starving for the past 6 months. The past couple of months I had a couple more hundred calories and I haven't gone over 1500 calories. Since then, I haven't really been struggling with hunger but then again, I haven't lost much either. My problem has been being able to exercise consistently. I'll go to the gym 3 or 4 times in a row and then take off 3 or 4 days. I've been trying to stay motivated to go regularly but its been really hard especially with the holidays. But like Kathy says, make sure you get plenty of water so you won't get dehydrated. Personally I've added a multi-vitamin to my diet b/c I was so paranoid I would have some kind of nutrition deficiency with only having 1200 calories LOL
Its so great to hear that you're doing so wonderfully with your diet! Keep up the good work!
*hugs*

Hi Tina!
I normally have some calories left over but not usually 400. Make sure you are eating two snacks throughout the day. My opinion is to eat your three meals but eat two snacks throughout the day to keep your metabolism up and that should keep you around the calories the Dr ordered. Normally for my snacks, I will eat either seedless grapes, 15 Wheatable Crackers or two mini slim jims (all three are about 100 calories total). Not getting to your 1500 calories is fine as long as you are still feeling satisfied but if you are leaving 400 calories a day out, then you may not be eating enough (or getting in your meat). Your Dr ordered 1500 for you for a reason. Keep your metabolism up! I am glad to see you are doing well on the diet. I have slacked the past week and half. Since my b-day (12/16), I have been so busy that I have not had time to get to the grocery store and keep track of my calories. I am getting back on track this weekend. I think it helps that my Dr will actually look at my food and exercise journal. I think knowing that he is going to be monitoring that closely keeps me from many "slip ups". Except for the past week and half- those pages will be blank!
. I hope the next 5 months flies by as fast as this past month! Talk to you later. Misty
