Hello!

Hi Everybody, I never thought in my wildest dreams I would be writing to all of you nice folks in Tennessee. Thanks to Hurricane Katrina i've temporarily relocated here and now can continue on my WLS journey. I need your help can any of you recommend me a good PCP and Surgeon. I've read all of those suggested by the site also I was thinking about lap band. Can any of you wonderful bandster's share with me your success and failures. Thanks all and Merry Christmas.

Hi Bathsheba! Welcome to TN. I am sorry to hear you were affected by the Hurricane and that brought you here but we are happy to have you! That is great that you can continue your WLS journey in Memphis. As far as a surgeon, my best advice is to get the list from this site of WLS surgeons in the Memphis area and then look in the directory of physicians for your insurance to see which ones are included by your insurance. You can narrow it down that way. I live in Nashville and because of the HMO plan, I really only had one (make that two) options. Luckily both surgeons were great and I was able to research them to find out the best for me. At first I was a little irritated to think I would be forced to a specific surgeon but it worked out.
