did you have surgery at vanderbilt!!!!!!!!!!

ok this is what i was wondering. did they put u on a liquid diet at vanderbilt. I've read were alot of people are on a liquid diet b4 surgery. my surgery is dec 19th I meet with my surgen on dec the 7th for the first time an nobody has said anything to me about a liquid diet. so its kind of worring me. so if you had surgery at vanderbilt please let me know if you were on liquids or not Thanks Tom

First off Tom, Missy Lea wasn't told anything either just prior to her surgery. If you have a fatty enlarged liver, you will need to be on a special diet to shrink the liver. She started about 2 days prior to her surgery of drinking Citrate, and doing liquids to clean out her bowels. But until she passed the leak test after surgery, she wasn't given any thing by mouth between 24-48 hours. Once you pass the leak test then the tube going down your nose down the back of your throat will then come out and you will be given liquids. Best of luck. Love Kathy

Howdy there Tom I'm here!! I had my surgery at Vanderbilt and was told to eat light the day before and drink alot of fluids but nothing after 12:00 a.m. I did the Magnesium Citrate a couple of days before my surgery and I was glad that I did I had broths and lots of water and sugar free jello the couple of days before I went in for surgery It's not so bad though.... ML
