Where are you TN??

It has been a slow time on the TN Board the last several days. I am sure everyone is trying to cope with the weather changes and probably are busy preparing for Thanksgiving. I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving Holiday! Misty

Misty, I've been busy with preparations. I love the holidays and plus hubby has been off from work for the past couple of days so we've been a little busy getting the house ready for thanksgiving (our first together) and other things I hope you have a wonderful thanksgiving *hugs* april

April, Hi girly Girl! We have been missing each other on here in the past several weeks. Good to hear from you. I remember my first Thanksgiving with my husband and my family came to our house (well apartment at the time). Needless to say, we are back to having it at my grandmothers every year now. . . My husband and I bought our first house this summer so we are ready to decorate for Christmas and maybe actually celebrate it at home this year. I just don't have any decorations yet. Are you going shopping the day after Thanksgiving? I am not doing that ever again but they do have some good sells. I see that you only have about a month and half left on your supervised diet. Thats great. Can you go ahead and get it submitted to your insurance for approval for when that is over? Or do you have to wait? Well at least you got your packet and you can get it all done and be prepared for when it is over. Good luck with your psych exam. It will be fine. We should get together sometime and go walking. Until surgery, that is about all I can do as far as exercise and that takes a lot! What am I saying, it takes a lot to work a full time job and that is behind a desk! Anyways. guys, sorry I haven't been on for a couple of days. I managed to get the stomach virus that has been going around. Only with my being on chemo I had no immune system to help fight it. I lost 29 lbs in two days. My potassium and sodium electro-lites were zero. I was dehydrated and hospitalized for 2 days. Can you believe that 29 lbs in two days. Some serious ing and the runs. My dr. said I was too close to saying my final goodbyes. I pray y'all don't get this. It is horrible. I can't think of gravy and Turkey at this moment, but ask me on Saturday when I'm not so shakey and feeling a little better. Love to all, Kathy

Kathy. I am soo sorry to hear about what you have gone through. Are you still on Chemo? Is that why it made it worse for you? I have had that 24 hour stomach bug a couple of times in the past. I am praying that I dont get that agian. I hope you get to feeling better and do get to enjoy Thanksgiving. to you later. Misty

Hi Tom. Your date is getting closer and closer. I am sure it is not moving very fast to you though. Aren't you going through Vanderbilt? I am curious to know if they have you doing anything special prior to surgery (like a restricted diet or liquid diet) for several days or weeks prior. Does vanderbilt have anything like that before surgery? That is who I will have my surgery through and was wanting to know. Misty

Misty I wish I knew! I went today an saw the anastesoligist nurse. an I still haven't met my Doctor yet. My next visit is Dec 7th to see the surgen an nutrionilst. so i guess they will tell me then lol . sorry about the spelling, Later Tom
