I am 35 years old and was diagnosed this year with Multiple Sclerosis. I have weight that I need to lose for health reasons. I have struggled with weight issues all of my life. Since my diagnosis of MS, I have really been battling it. I am scheduled to go to a WLS seminar on December 9th to try and get the ball rolling. My question here is............. Is there any one with Multiple Sclerosis that has had the surgery done or anyone that is in the process of getting it done? I would love to talk with someone about things.

Hi Marla . I think it is a down week on the TN boards this week for the holidays. Sorry I can not be of assistance with your question but if you havent yet, you may consider posting this question to the main message board (just click on message board at the top). That way, you will have a bigger audience and people that have been through MS as well. Good luck on getting answers and on your Weight loss journey. I wish you well and much success! Misty

Marla, I am sorry to hear you have MS. I just found out in July I have leukemia and I am still having surgery. I can't answer your question about having MS and WLS, the best place to get that answer is at the seminar. The seminar's are held by the surgeon. Remember this if one says no, don't give up. But from a person who is getting ready to have her surgery, I don't see why you can't have your surgery. I can wish you the best. Write down your question to take with you to the seminar, and please let us know what the Dr. has to say. Who's seminar are you attending in Dec. Always, kathy

Thank you for the reply, Cathy! Luekemia would be another diagnosis that would be hard to hear. Its great that you are staying strong and keeping on with the surgery. My seminar is at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville. Keep me posted on how your surgery and your luekemia goes!
