Question of the Day?
Sorry all. I have been slacking the past week with getting online. I am going to keep the questions coming as long as you are answering them. It is good for everyone to get to know other members- the good and bad sides
I am sure by now you all know about my craziness. Luckily, getting to know some of you has let me realize I am not the only
one here!
I am going to post a couple of questions to make up for my missed time.
1) Thanksgiving is coming up. What is your favorite Thanksgiving food?
2) What do you do for the holidays - travel to your families or host your family at your house?
3) Which WLS have you or are you looking to have - Lapband or Bypass?
4) Have you started Christmas Shopping yet (46 days and counting)?
5) Do you like watching any sports?
My answers:
1) I love this pasta salad that my aunt makes. For desert- I love Pumpkin Pie
2) I spend the holidays at my grandmothers with other family members
3) Bypass - my decision after much research. My PCP was leaning toward Lapband but is also a go for bypass.
4) Why do I keep reminding myself how far away Christmas is? I have not started shopping. Unfortunately, I am one that starts the week of. I am going to try and do better this year.
5) I love Football. Especially the Titans. Invite me to any football party and I am there!
Misty

Hi Misty,
I guess I'll take my turn now and answer some questions.
1. My all time favorite food of Thanksgiving....well just about everything. But I really LOVE my grandmothers homemade Chocolate Pie.
2. Since I live with my grandmother everyone comes to our house. We've done this for as long as I remember except for one year.
3. I had open RNY on August 11th, 2004.
4. I have picked up a few Christmas gifts. But I am no where near done with the shopping yet. My problem is I always find something I really want too.
5. I don'****ch sports. I will occassionally watch the rodeo on tv though.
Now I'm off to get ready for work. Everyone have a great day.
Julie
Glad to see you back online Misty!
Response to ? 1. Thanksgiving and Christmas are probably my two most favorite holidays....only because of the great food. When I was away at college (WKU) my family always cooked my favorites because I always complained about how I never got any home cooked foods...which probably one of the reasons why I'm in the shape I'm in now! But my favorite is my grandmother's stuffing and for dessert, my aunt's banana pudding. I can make the latter w/lower calories and lower fat so its not THAT bad.
? 2. We get together at someone's house, usually my grandmother's house. My brother and I shared an apartment last year and we hosted Thanksgiving...boy was that a tight squeeze! We both are married with our own homes now...it's amazing how many life changes have happened since last year.
? 3. I definitely want to have roux-en-y. I've done research of that and Lapband and I feel the roux-en-y will definitely be more beneficial. I'm an over-eater for one and I know this may sound a little silly but I'm glad this procedure allows "dumping". I think it will be the only way to stir me away from the bad habits.
? 4. Yes, I have begun my shopping .... most of it has been online though. Thinking that it would be easier than fighting crowds and more of a selection on the internet and plus I don't like being in very many public places (self-esteem issue I suppose)....but shipping and handling charges are outrageous!! I think I would rather fight the crowd. My husband is excited about the holidays this year. This will be the first time in 6 or 7 years that he has wanted to celebrate christmas. He has been the one to actually initiate the gift buying process lol
? 5. Nope not a big sports fan. I'm probably the oddball in Nashville. Everywhere and everyone is either a Titans fan or Vols fan. Last Sunday, I went to workout at the YMCA and every TV was on the Titans/Clevland game and boy were the Titans losing. I work downtown Nashville at a state park and when there is a home game those state employee parking lots are jammed pack with tailgaters...its really unbelievable! I guess I just find it unbelievable b/c I'm not a fan.
